A partition includes a first structure, a deformable partitioning portion connected to the first structure, and an air-environment adjusting portion disposed at at least one of the first structure and the deformable partitioning portion. The deformable partitioning portion has a first end portion on a side connected to the first structure and a second end portion on a distal side from the first end portion. The deformable partitioning portion partitions a predetermined space with respect to an adjacent space. The air-environment adjusting portion includes at least one of a cooling portion configured to cool air, a heating portion configured to heat air, and an airflow generating portion configured to generate an airflow.

Externally Tensioned Pliable Air Ducts

Example air duct assemblies include a pliable air duct supported such that the duct is maintained in a generally expanded shape even when the duct is deflated. In some examples, a series of hangers suspend the duct from one or more cables, tracks or other type of overhead support. The hangers are spaced apart and distributed over the length of the duct, and each one contributes in pulling the duct taut in the duct's longitudinal direction.

3D printed continuous fiber reinforced part

A part includes a continuous fiber substantially encased in a formation material. The fiber and formation material are arranged in a plurality of alternating layers such that the formation material of a first one of the alternating layers adheres to the formation material of a second one of the alternating layers over the length of the continuous fiber. The part may include a thin-walled hollow member such as a duct. In some embodiments a part comprises a continuous fiber prepared by an additive manufacturing process comprising the steps of: depositing a composite material on a print bed using a print head, the composite material comprising a continuous fiber and a formation material in intimate contact with the continuous fiber; moving the print head and/or the print bed during the depositing of the composite material; and consolidating the composite material.

Connector for flexible duct, flexible duct with interchangeable end, and method thereof

A flexible duct having a hollow tube shape. The flexible duct includes at least one end, and an opening defined by a first edge of the at least one end and forming a duct inlet or duct outlet. The at least one end includes at least a first attachment and a second attachment, and the first attachment and the second attachment are different. The first attachment and the second attachment can be used independently of one another to connect the at least one end to a first inlet or a first outlet. In one embodiment, a flexible duct includes an attachment that is a cuff. In another embodiment, a connector includes two different attachments and the connector can be affixed to a flexible duct end. In another embodiment, a method includes providing a flexible duct with different attachments at one end of the flexible duct, and flowing air through the flexible duct. In a further embodiment, a method includes providing a connector having two different attachments.

A fitting assembly for connection to a flexible duct includes a fitting and a ferrule extending from the fitting. The ferrule includes a first end configured for insertion into an open end of the flexible duct, a second end adjacent to the fitting, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end. The sidewall defines a minor diameter adjacent the first end and a major diameter spaced apart from the minor diameter. The ferrule further includes a ferrule thread extending radially outward from the sidewall. The minor diameter is less than or equal to an inner diameter of the flexible duct with the flexible duct fully elongated, and the major diameter is greater than the inner diameter of the flexible duct with the flexible duct fully elongated.

Insulated duct with air gap and method of use

A flexible air duct contains a uniformly-spaced reflective insulation system, with or without bulk insulation, a liner, and an outer jacket that would allow a reduced amount or no amount of bulk insulation to be used to obtain a desired R-value insulation. The flexible air duct can be used to move conditioned air to one or more desired locations.
