Wall-mounted suction ventilator
11248813 · 2022-02-15 ·

A natural ventilator is herein disclosed that is free of moving parts, wind-activated, rain-proof, and free of dust or smog infiltration. It is not only suitable to be a standalone natural ventilator, but is also advantageous to be used as an enhanced exhaust exit in a forced-air ventilation system, for such enclosed spaces or objects as buildings and vehicles needing air relief. The ventilator assembly has rainwater-proof shapes or fixtures that serve to defend the vent system, and the interior space being vented, against rainwater invasion, even if raindrop trajectory becomes highly oblique from vertical as driven by strong winds. It also includes shapes or fixtures to prevent fume condensation from drifting outward and staining the exterior of a building or vehicle, or the like, that is being vented.

FLOOR VENT
20170268227 · 2017-09-21 ·

A floor vent including a grille defining a plurality of vent openings and cross-members therebetween, and one or more pins corresponding to a respective one or more of said cross-members, wherein each of the one or more pins may be either (a) contained within the respective cross-members, or (b) affixed to the respective cross-members, and wherein the one or more pins are formed of material or materials that are substantially stronger than the material or materials of which the respective cross-members are formed, to provide for strengthening the respective cross-members.

DIFFUSER ADJUSTMENT ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A diffuser assembly includes a first blade pivotably coupled to a housing and configured to rotate about a first axis and includes second blade pivotably coupled to the housing and configured to rotate about a second axis. The diffuser assembly includes a linkage mechanism coupled to the first blade and the second blade and configured to transition between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the linkage mechanism is configured to induce rotation of the second blade about the second axis in a first direction in response to rotation of the first blade about the first axis in the first direction. In the second configuration, the linkage mechanism is configured to induce rotation of the second blade about the second axis in a second direction, opposite the first direction, in response to rotation of the first blade about the first axis in the first direction.

Pressure Equalization Device for Attic
20210404674 · 2021-12-30 ·

A pressure equalization device for installation on or at an entry of an attic of a home or other building is described. The pressure equalization device can be an access panel of an attic access hatch. The access panel is a solid, generally flat panel of material such as wood or plastic. The access panel includes an aperture that passes therethrough. The aperture is covered with an air-permeable cover made from a material such as cloth or plastic mesh. The mesh is constructed to allow air to pass through the aperture between the attic and interior of the building for purposes of equalizing pressure between them. Pores of the mesh are sized so that insects, rodents, and other animals and dust and debris cannot pass through and into the interior of the building.

AUTO-ADJUSTING FAN ASSEMBLY FOR AN AIR CONDITIONING APPLIANCE
20210404692 · 2021-12-30 ·

An air conditioner unit is configured for automatically detecting a restricted duct and adjusting fan speed schedules in response. The air conditioner unit includes an indoor fan including a drive motor for selectively rotating the indoor fan to urge a flow of air through the indoor portion and a controller is configured for sending a control signal to the drive motor to rotate the indoor fan to an actual fan speed. Based on the actual fan speed and a unit voltage, the controller obtains a target control signal, e.g., via a lookup table, and determines that a restricted duct condition exists if the control signal is different than the target control signal. The controller adjusts the operation of the indoor fan in response to determining that the restricted duct condition exists.
