Drain Pan Guard

A drain guard is configured to block debris from entering a drain line of an HVAC unit. The guard includes a hollow body having a front side, a first side, a second side, and a back side defining an internal volume. A lip extending outward from a ridge formed at the convergence of the front side and the back side subsequently extends downward and parallel to the back side. The gap made between the back side and the lip may act as a receiving section for a sidewall of a drain pan so that the device may be stabilized. For further stabilization, cutouts are positioned in the back side and lip of the device so that a drain pipe connected to the drain pan may be seamlessly positioned adjacent the device.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LIMITING ALGAE GROWTH IN CONDENSATE DRAIN LINES

A device insertable inline in a condensation drain line for preventing algae “plugs” from forming in the drain line. The device has an inlet, an outlet and a reaction chamber therebetween. A charge of algaecide is positioned with respect to the floor of the reaction chamber in a feed channel so that, as condensate enters the inlet of the reaction chamber and is diverted toward the algaecide the algae in the condensate can be killed. Additional flow diverters apply backflow to retain the condensate in contact with the algaecide momentarily before the condensate exist the device and is discharged to the environment.

Dehumidifier

Provided is a dehumidifier capable of preventing condensation from flowing to the outside of a water container when the dehumidifier is turned over or while the dehumidifier is moved, since a suction structure for suctioning the condensation and a discharge structure for discharging the condensation are improved. The dehumidifier comprises: a main body having a suction port; a heat exchanger provided inside the main body and removing moisture in the air; and a water collection device for collecting the condensation generated in the heat exchanger, wherein the water collection device comprises: an auxiliary water container in which the condensation is collected; a housing for guiding the condensation to the auxiliary water container; a connection hose provided to have a bent part so as to connect the auxiliary water container and the housing; an upper water container detachably provided at the upper part of the main body so as to drain the condensation; and a pump for pumping, to the upper water container, the condensation collected in the auxiliary water container.

The first body portion may be detached from second and third body portions and placed in a freezer to refreeze the cooling media, and reattached for further use. The second body portion may include a material that absorbs condensate that forms within the air passageways. The third body portion may include a fan for driving air into the cooling device, through the air passageways and out of the cooling device. When passing through the air passageways, a heat transfer is produced between the passing air and the cooling medium, cooling the passing air. The fan speed may be varied to adjust air flow.

EVAPORATIVE COOLER AND MOISTURE CONDENSER WITH VAPOR RECOVERY AND METHOD

An evaporative cooler which includes a sealed loop of conduit with a first portion in a space to be cooled and a second portion in a space where heat is rejected, a volume of working fluid, and a fan inside the conduit loop. The fan forces air over the working fluid to accelerate its evaporation, which requires heat. Evaporation creates vapor-enriched air which carries heat and is forced by the fan to the second portion. Within the second portion, the vapor-enriched air rejects the absorbed heat before being forced back to the first portion. In certain cases, a portion of the working fluid in the vapor-enriched air condenses out and drains or is pumped back to the first portion. In certain uses, the cooler provides cooling to an area. In other uses, the cooler captures vaporized water, producing an impurity-free condensate for removal or use.

A passive air conditioner drain line chlorinator that is connected to the outlet of a pan of an air conditioner and the drain line of the air conditioner. The drain line chlorinator comprises of a sloped housing that has an inlet and an outlet. A sloped cartridge that has at least two compartments is placed within the sloped housing. The sloped cartridge defines staggered thru holes between each compartment. Algae or mold eliminating tablets are placed within the compartments. And, a cover covers a central aperture of the sloped housing. The inlet of the sloped housing attaches to a drain line that leaves the pan of an air conditioner and the outlet of the sloped housing attaches to the drain line of the air conditioner.
