METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING BLOCKAGES IN CONDENSATE LINES AND NOTIFYING INTERESTED PARTIES
20210041137 · 2021-02-11 ·

A heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, fluid level sensor and method of detecting and resolving condensate line blockages are provided. A plurality of sensor probes are attached to a drain system of an HVAC system such that each probe detects a different level of fluid. Responsive to determining that the sensor probe is contacting fluid, an action of a hierarchy of actions is initiated, wherein each action is associated with one of the sensor probes of the plurality of sensor probes. Repeating the determining and initiating steps for each sensor probe of the plurality of sensor probes until all actions in the hierarchy of actions have been initiated sequentially.

HVAC CONDENSATE EVAPORATION AND AEROBIC DISPERSION SYSTEMS
20210063047 · 2021-03-04 ·

An HVAC condensate evaporation system or aerobic dispersion system may transform the condensate that drains out of HVAC systems and/or septic systems into steam that is less likely to cause property damage. The system may be installed midstream in a condensate line and condensate that flows through the condensate line in normal operation may enter the chamber where it hits a solar-powered boiler that evaporates the condensate back into the atmosphere as steam. By converting the condensate into steam, property damage due to drainage out of the condensate line of an HVAC system may be minimized, or even eliminated. The system also may include a back-up capacitor or battery for low solar days. The system may further include wireless notification capability, including, but not limited to, Wi-Fi capability, to transmit notifications to the building owner or other interested parties of condensate issues as they may arise.

Chemical delivery system for AC drain line

A chemical delivery system is provided. The chemical delivery system includes a strand of material having a plurality of chemical delivery tablets secured thereto. The strand of material can be inserted into a drain pipe opening and retained within the drain pipe by a retention disc and/or a removable cap. The chemical delivery tablets are measurably consumed as fluid or other condensate material flows through the drain pipe. The strand of material may then be readily replaced with a new strand on a period basis without necessitating disassembly of the pipe thereby preventing growth of algae or other organic material in the drain pipe.

PACKAGED TERMINAL AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM AND SLEEVE THEREFOR
20200408439 · 2020-12-31 ·

A packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) system includes a wall sleeve in which a chassis is mounted. The chassis includes the major electrical and mechanical components for the evaporator and condenser sections, and includes a pan that collects condensate from the evaporator section for use in cooling the condenser coil. The sleeve includes one or more guide openings in a sidewall, and correspondingly mounted guide structures inside the sleeve that are configured to guide spheroid-shaped treatment pellets into different portions of the PTAC system to suppress or inhibit microbial growth. This arrangement obviates the need to partially disassemble the PTAC unit to remove the chassis so that treatment pellets can be placed into the PTAC unit. The bottom of the wall sleeve includes a drain reservoir and is sloped to direct water on the bottom to the drain reservoir.

Modular drain pans for HVAC systems

A drain pan for a HVAC system includes a middle section defining a cavity extending from a first end of the middle section to a second end of the middle section, a first end section configured to partially extend into the cavity via the first end of the middle section, and a second end section configured to partially extend into the cavity via the second end of the middle section. The second end section includes a drain port. In some embodiments, the drain pan is modular, enabling different middle sections of various lengths to be coupled between the end sections. The cavity of some embodiments is formed by double walls, which insulate the middle section to reduce condensate formation on a bottom surface of the middle section. By forming one or multiple sections from plastic with an anti-microbial additive, the drain pan further reduces corrosion, microbial growth, and/or condensate generation.

HVAC fluid conditioning system
10822257 · 2020-11-03 · ·

According to principles of the present inventive concepts, an HVAC fluid conditioning system comprises an inlet port configured to receive HVAC fluid from an HVAC condensation line. A conditioning system treats the HVAC fluid with a chemical or other treatment process to prevent the growth of harmful pollutants within the HVAC condensation line. The treated HVAC fluid is then released from the conditioning system through an outlet port thereof and back into the HVAC condensation line. A trap system can be provided to trap harmful gases created during the HVAC fluid treatment process.

DEHUMIDIFICATION DRAINAGE SYSTEM WITH MIST ELIMINATOR

The angled rib is inclined towards the third rib and configured to change a velocity vector of the air flowing through the drain pan. The mist eliminator is configured to remove water droplets from the air.

CHEMICAL ROD FOR HVAC FLUID CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
20200340707 · 2020-10-29 · ·

An HVAC fluid conditioning system may utilize chlorine (or other chemical) rods to treat an HVAC fluid. The chemical rod preferably has a length longer than a width (or diameter) of the rod to prevent the rod from tipping within a receptacle of the HVAC fluid conditioning system. The chemical rod may have a substantially circular cross-section wherein the width is equal to the diameter of the cross-section. The rod may have a length longer than about three inches and a width or diameter of about one inch or less. The circular rod may be formed by placing a rod with a substantially rectangular (e.g., square) cross-section into a press and pressing the rectangular rod between two molds, each having a semicircular opening, to form a rod having a substantially circular cross-section. A releasing agent may be applied to the rod or mold to facilitate easy release.
