ENHANCED HVAC PERFORMANCE MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
20230194113 · 2023-06-22 ·

A system and method of monitoring the performance of an HVAC system including a controller in communication with an HVAC unit where the method includes monitoring environmental conditions using a controller. Environmental conditions, such as indoor air temperature, indoor humidity and outdoor temperature are measured and used to compute performance parameters that help diagnose HVAC performance problems. The rate of change of indoor air temperature (IATR) and rate of change of indoor humidity (IDHR) are computed and used to determine the sensible heat ratio of the cooling system. The sensible heat ratio, which may or may not be adjusted for transient startup, is used in concert with product performance data, indoor air temperature, indoor humidity, and outdoor air temperature to determine cooling system airflow.

CORROSION ENVIRONMENT DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM, CORROSION PREVENTION SYSTEM, CORROSION ENVIRONMENT DIAGNOSIS METHOD, AND CORROSION PREVENTION METHOD

The present invention is a corrosion environment diagnosis system including: an environment measuring device that includes a temperature sensor that measures temperature in an electronic part serving as a diagnosis target or an indoor space in which an electronic device including the electronic part is installed, a humidity sensor that measures relative humidity in the indoor space or the electronic device, a corrosion sensor that measures a corrosion thickness of the diagnosis target, and a database in which indoor environment data including the temperature and the relative humidity measured by the temperature sensor and the humidity sensor and corrosion thickness data including the corrosion thickness measured by the corrosion sensor are accumulated; an outside air environment database in which outside air environment data including previous temperature and humidity of outside air is recorded; and a diagnostic processing device capable of receiving data of the outside air environment database and the environment measuring device, wherein the diagnostic processing device decides a corrosion mechanism corresponding to a relation between the corrosion thickness and the relative humidity on the basis of the indoor environment data, the corrosion thickness data, and the outside air environment data, and estimates a future corrosion thickness of the diagnosis target. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately estimate a future corrosion thickness on the basis of a mechanism of corrosion by atmospheric air including corrosive gas.

Apparatus and Methods to Measure Economizer Outdoor Air Fractions and Fault Detection Diagnostics of Airflow, Cooling Capacity, and Heating Capacity
20170343227 · 2017-11-30 ·

An apparatus and method for measuring or controlling the Outdoor Air Fraction (OAF) ratio through economizer or outdoor air dampers and cabinet to total system airflow and mixed-air humidity ratio and wetbulb temperature for HVAC equipment. An OAF exceeding the minimum regulatory requirements wastes energy and contributes to global warming. OAF is used to optimize economizer damper position either manually or automatically using an economizer Fault Detection Diagnostic controller and actuator to meet minimum outdoor airflow requirements. After the outdoor air damper position is optimized, the mixed-air humidity ratio and mixed-air wetbulb temperature are determined and used with the measured mixed-air drybulb and supply-air drybulb temperatures to evaluate evaporator airflow, cooling capacity, and heating capacity, and, if necessary, provide a visual or electronically-transmitted error code signal indicating maintenance requirements to check or correct economizer damper position, cabinet leakage, airflow, cooling or heating capacity, and/or other faults for the HVAC system.

Air conditioning system including a ventilator that supplies humidified outdoor air

When a humidity condition, including a humidity detected by a temperature and humidity sensor and a humidification load sensing unit falling below a threshold value, is met, an outside air conditioner supplies the heated and humidified air into the room. When the humidity condition is met during the indoor heating operation, the indoor heating operation is stopped or weakened. When the humidity condition is met, only the outside air conditioner is subjected to a heating and humidifying operation. Since the indoor air is not heated by the inside air conditioner more than necessary, when a heating load is low and a humidification load is present, a “conflicting state” can be prevented in which the inside air conditioner is subjected to a cooling and dehumidifying operation and the outside air conditioner is subjected to the heating and humidifying operation.

Refrigerating and air-conditioning apparatus for use in a defrosting operation

A refrigerating and air-conditioning apparatus performs, even during a heating operation under air conditions leading to formation of frost, a defrosting operation while simultaneously continuing a heating operation and that improves comfort through heating by ensuring an appropriate amount of ventilation. A plurality of refrigeration cycles that are capable of independently performing a heating operation and a defrosting operation, are provided. A ventilation damper of an indoor unit in which a refrigeration cycle that performs a defrosting operation is installed is closed during a defrosting operation, and a ventilation damper of an indoor unit in which a refrigeration cycle that performs a heating operation is installed is controlled to achieve a required amount of ventilation corresponding to the indoor ventilation state.

20220364755 · 2022-11-17 ·

A method for monitoring or controlling equipment of a building includes receiving a first timeseries comprising first data samples of a first variable monitored or controlled by a system and a second timeseries comprising second data samples of a second variable monitored or controlled by the system. The first data samples are at least partially asynchronous with the second data samples. The method includes synchronizing the first timeseries with the second timeseries by aggregating both the first timeseries and the second timeseries using equivalent aggregation intervals. Aggregating the first timeseries generates a third timeseries comprising aggregated values of the first variable and aggregating the second timeseries generates a fourth timeseries comprising aggregated values of the second variable. The method includes performing an automated operation to monitor or control the equipment of the building using the synchronized data samples of the third timeseries and the fourth timeseries.
