Air Vent Controller
20220011003 · 2022-01-13 ·

Methods, systems, and apparatus for controlling an air flow are described. A monitor obtains an environmental parameter and an air deflector controls the air flow exiting an air duct. An air deflector actuator configures the air deflector, the configuration of the air deflector being based on the environmental parameter.

Enhancement for Thermostat Programmability
20220010998 · 2022-01-13 ·

A programmable thermostat supports at least one attribute where each different attribute values may support different sets of thermostatic settings. The programmable thermostat may be programmed based on the different attribute values rather than on temperature set points that are traditionally mapped to programmed times. Each set may include settings for a plurality of controlled equipment including a heating/cooling system, fan, ventilator, humidifier, and/or de-humidifier. Each embodiment may support attribute values associated with an occupancy attribute (which is indicative whether or not people are occupying an environmental entity) and/or a scenario attribute (which flexibly maps different thermostatic settings to different scenario attribute values). Stored configuration data about the thermostatic settings may be organized as a tree structure, where the leaves correspond to the thermostatic settings. A programmable thermostat/ventilator controller may also instruct a ventilator system to run during an adjustable pre-occupancy purge time duration before an environmental entity is occupied.

An air conditioning control device controls an air conditioning apparatus capable of changing an air environment of a target space. The air conditioning control device includes a first information grasping unit and a control unit. The first information grasping unit grasps a predetermined comfort-related value relating to comfort of a subject. The control unit controls the air conditioning apparatus so as to satisfy a predetermined discomfort condition based on the comfort-related value grasped by the first information grasping unit. An air conditioning apparatus includes the air conditioning control device.

System and method for personalized thermal comfort control

A control system for controlling a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, uses a thermal comfort model (TCM), an airflow dynamics model (ADM) and an HVAC model connecting thermal states at air vents with states of actuators of the HVAC system, for determining a target thermal state at the air vents connecting the HVAC system to an environment, such that the target thermal state at the air vents results in a thermal state at the location of an occupant according to the ADM connecting uneven distribution of thermal states at different locations in the environment. Further, the control system determines and submits control commands to one or multiple actuators of the HVAC system producing the target thermal state at the air vents.

Managing emissions demand response event generation

Techniques for performing an emissions demand response event are described. In an example, a cloud-based HVAC control server system receives an emissions rate forecast for a predefined future time period. Using the emissions rate forecast, a plurality of emissions differential values are created for a plurality of points in time during the predefined future time period. The emissions differential values represent a change in predicted emissions over time. Based on the plurality of emissions differential values and a predefined maximum number of emissions demand response events, an emissions demand response event is generated during the predefined future time period. The cloud-based HVAC control server system then causes a thermostat to control an HVAC system in accordance with the generated emissions demand response event.

BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH AIR QUALITY OCCUPANT IMPACT ASSESSMENT

A building system for a building. The building system can include one or more memory devices. The one or more memory device can store instructions. The instructions, when executed by one or more processors, can cause the one or more processors to receive, from one or more sensors, air quality measurements associated with one or more spaces of the building, and generate, using the air quality measurements, a productivity score for at least one of the building or at least one space of the one or more spaces of the building. The productivity score can be based on a predicted productivity or effect on productivity of one or more occupants of the building in view of the air quality measurements.
