Burner assembly having a baffle
A burner assembly includes a burner box that defines an enclosure that has a burner plate opening. A mixing tube is in fluid communication with the burner box through a mixing tube opening that extends through the burner box. A baffle creates an enclosure that at least partially separates the mixing tube opening from the burner plate opening.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PORTABLE AIR HEATER
A portable forced air heater including a housing, a heating element located within the housing, a sensor configured to sense a characteristic of the portable heater, a communications device configured to communicate with an external device, and a controller having an electrical processor and memory. The controller is configured to receive, from the sensor, the characteristic of the portable heater, and output, via the communications device, a signal indicative of the characteristic of the portable heater to the external device.
Heater with Flame Display
A heater with a visual flame display is described. The heater may include a top portion and a base, separated by concentric cylinders. The innermost cylinder houses a flame element, which may be spun into a vortex. The cylinders may be constructed from transparent materials such that the flame element is visible to an observer. The base provides heat at or near ground level for efficient heat distribution.
Thermos at algorithm for fully modulating furnaces
A method and system for operating a modulating furnace from a single-stage thermostat. The furnace control system may include a processor, a gas valve, a variable-speed motor, and a thermostat. The furnace control may execute a thermostat algorithm comprising the steps of: determining if a heating load needs to be satisfied; running burners at an intermediate input rate, a modulated input rate, and a maximum input rate for each respective first, second, and third time intervals until the heating load is satisfied; calculating a heating load requirement as function of the time intervals; and determining an initial input rate for a next cycle based on the calculated heating load requirement.
VEHICLE HEATER
A vehicle heater housing (46) has an inlet area (49), an outlet area (51) and an air flow space (47) for air to be heated with a burner chamber assembly unit (30), to be fed with combustion air and fuel. A heat exchanger area (11), including a heat exchanger housing (12), is elongated in the direction of a housing longitudinal axis (L) with an outer side (24) around which air flowing in the air flow space flows. Heat transfer ribs are on a side of the heat exchanger housing. The heater housing has a housing circumferential wall (56) and an outlet front wall area (58). The heat transfer ribs have a longitudinal edge (64) extending along the housing circumferential wall and a radial edge extending along the outlet front wall area. A distance of the radial edge from the outlet front wall area changes from radially outwards to radially inwards.
FORCED AIR HEATER INCLUDING MULTIPLE ON-BOARD SOURCES OF ELECTRIC ENERGY
A heater includes a housing extending longitudinally between a rear intake end and a front discharge end, a support attached to a lower portion of the housing, and a cylindrical combustion chamber secured within the housing. A control unit is disposed within the support adjacent to the combustion chamber. A heater control panel is disposed on the support and electrically connected to the control unit, the heater control panel including an ignition switch for selective operation of the control unit to power an igniter. An electrical conductor is electrically connected to the control unit, wherein the support is configured to retain a battery for connection with the electrical conductor, to power the control unit. A plug is connected to the support and electrically connected to the control unit by a rectifier to convert AC power from an external power source to DC power to supply to the control unit.
LIQUID FUEL PORTABLE HEATER AND CONTROL METHOD OF SAID HEATER
A liquid fuel portable heater (100) comprises: a combustion chamber (101) having a fuel inlet with a nebuliser (13); an electric pump (10) having an inlet (11) for suctioning said liquid fuel from a tank (6), and an outlet (12) connected to said nebuliser (13); a control unit (20) configured so that, when the heater (100) is turned on, said control unit (20) supplies the electric pump with a sequence of pulses (115, 115) with a non-zero voltage, and pause intervals (116) with a substantially zero voltage alternating with said pulses, wherein the average duration of the pulses (115, 115) is less than the average duration of the pause intervals (116). In addition, a method for controlling an electric power supply of a fuel electric pump (10) of a liquid fuel portable heater by means of an electric control unit (20) configured to control said electric power supply, comprising a step of electrically supplying said pump, once the heater is turned on, with a sequence of pulses (115, 115) with a non-zero voltage, and pause intervals (116) with a substantially zero voltage alternating with said pulses, wherein the average duration of the pulses (115, 115) is less than the average duration of the pause intervals (116).
Multiple stage modulating gas fired heat exchanger
A modulating heating system includes a tube heat exchanger having a plurality of burners, a combustion air blower (CAB) having an exhaust vent connected with the plurality of burners, the CAB operable at a first speed and a second speed, a first valve connecting a fuel source to a first subset of the plurality of burners, and a second valve connecting a fuel source to a second subset of the plurality of burners, wherein the first and second valves each have a low fire rate and a high fire rate. The heat exchanger is operable through multiple heat stages at a constant fuel-air mixture.
CARRIER DEVICE
A carrier device for mounting a preferably fuel-operated heater (34) on a vehicle. The carrier device includes a mounting area (20) for mounting the carrier device (14) on a vehicle and a carrying area (152) for mounting a heater (34) on the carrier device (14). A combustion air line area (52) is provided for sending combustion air to a combustion air inlet (55) of a heater (34), or/and a heat transfer medium line area (60) is provided for sending heat transfer medium flowing in a heat transfer medium circuit (176) of a vehicle through the carrier device (14) or/and to or from a heat exchanger area (38) of the vehicle heater (34).
Heat exchanger transfer tubes
A transfer tube for a thermal transfer device can include at least one wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, where the inner surface forms a cavity, where the at least one wall further has a first end and a second end. The first end can be configured to couple to a terminus of a heat exchanger of the thermal transfer device. The second end can be configured to couple to a collector box of the thermal transfer device. At least a portion of the at least one wall can be disposed in a vestibule of the thermal transfer device. The cavity can be configured to simultaneously receive a first fluid that flows from the first end to the second end and a second fluid that flows from the second end to the first end.
