An apparatus includes: a variable hair length module configured to adjust the lengths of hair strands that are rooted in a head by a hair rooting machine from a supply of hair thread, the variable hair length module including two arms configured to move relative to each other along respective continuous paths; and a control system configured to input programs of instruction to the variable hair length module to automatically control the relative movement of the two arms during operation of the hair rooting machine to root hair strands into the head. The hair thread is configured to engage with each of the two arms such that a relative movement of the two arms varies the length of each hair strand continuously within a hair length range that is defined by two extreme lengths.

METHOD FOR FABRICATING A DOLL WITH DREADLOCK HAIR
A method for fabricating a toy doll with dreadlock hair is provided. The method comprises preparation of spooled dreadlock hair by twisting and matting synthetic filaments into a cylindrical dreadlock strand, sewing or rooting the dreadlock strand into a toy doll scalp, heat treating the dreadlocks, styling the dreadlocks, and then applying a hair treatment to the dreadlocks. The artisan twists the dreadlocks as they are rooted, thereby increasing their structural integrity. The doll is then heat treated to help set the dreadlocks. The artisan then styles the dreadlocks and applies a hair treatment to protect against wear and facilitate a lifelike appearance.

A method for fabricating a toy doll with dreadlock hair is provided. Plush toy with changeable face
A plush toy that is configurable to change the face displayed on the toy. In a first embodiments, the hair is moveable to display a face flap that has a different face on each side of the flap. The flap can be positioned to display either side and face or can be stowed on the back of the toy's head to display a third face. In a second embodiment, a face strap is pulled to position a first and second face on the front of the plush toy. A third embodiment includes a moveable face hood that can be positioned in one of two positions to display two different faces.
Plush toy with changeable face
A plush toy that is configurable to change the face displayed on the toy. In a first embodiments, the hair is moveable to display a face flap that has a different face on each side of the flap. The flap can be positioned to display either side and face or can be stowed on the back of the toy's head to display a third face. Toy figurine and packaging
A toy figurine and/or toy figurine packaging is coated with a dissolvable layer. When the toy figurine is coated, the toy figurine is entirely coated so that its overall appearance, including its skin complexion and/or facial features, is substantially hidden or obscured. Then, when the figurine is submerged in a fluid, the dissolvable layer dissolves to reveal the figurine's appearance that had been hidden underneath the dissolvable layer. When the toy figurine packaging is coated, the toy figurine packaging hides the identity of a toy figurine enclosed therein until fluid is introduced to the packaging.

A toy figurine comprising a figurine body with an identity selected from a set of identities and a removable plush costume covering the figurine body and obscuring the identity of the figurine body. The plush costume includes one or more separately removable portions and removing one or more of the separately removable portions reveals the identity of the figurine body.
