The inside of a casing constituting an indoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus is laterally divided by an air passage partition so that an air passage chamber housing an indoor fan and an indoor heat exchanger is defined close to a casing side panel. A space in the casing close to the casing side panel is further vertically divided by a partition having through holes and so that a pipe connection chamber housing parts of the extension pipes, flare joints, and indoor pipes is defined in an upper portion and a pipe draw-out chamber in which the extension pipes are arranged is defined in a lower portion. Gaps between outer peripheries of the extension pipes and inner peripheries of the through holes are filled with insulations.

Equipment protector with buoyant rim
09863648 · 2018-01-09 ·

An equipment protector including a tubular body extending from a first end to a second. The tubular body is manufactured from a waterproof, collapsible material and has a first diameter. A buoyancy ring is sealingly connected to the first end of the tubular body and defines a through passage. The buoyancy ring has an outer diameter which is larger than the first diameter such that the buoyancy ring extends radially outwardly from the tubular body and is susceptible to a buoyancy force created at the exterior of the tubular body. A method of protecting equipment is also provided.

Circuit for detecting a leak in a water heater device and activating an alarm device
12228311 · 2025-02-18 · ·

This disclosure is related to devices, systems, and techniques for outputting an alarm signal in response to detecting a leak in a water heater device. For example, a water heater device includes a leak sensor, an intermittent pilot light, and a circuit. The circuit includes processing circuitry configured to receive, from the leak sensor, an electrical signal including information indicative of a leak in the water heater device, activate, based on the electrical signal including information indicative of the leak, an alarm device, where the alarm device is powered for at least a period of time by a power source, where the power source is configured to receive energy from a thermoelectric device, and maintain an amount of energy stored by the power source so that the amount of energy is sufficient for the power source to supply energy to the alarm device.

LIQUID CONTAINMENT DEVICE AND CONTAINMENT OF LEAKAGE FROM A LIQUID RESERVOIR
20170067598 · 2017-03-09 ·

A liquid containment device and method for containing leakage from a liquid reservoir. The liquid containment device comprises a base and a peripheral wall that comprises flexible resilient folds that allow a portion of the peripheral wall to be flattened against the floor to slide the liquid containment device under the liquid reservoir. The peripheral wall is resilient and returns readily to a position where it extends upwardly from the base when released. The liquid containment device can be installed by lifting slightly a reservoir, flattening a portion of the peripheral wall, sliding it under the reservoir until the flattened portion protrudes past the far edge of the reservoir whereupon it resiliently regains its shape forming a receptacle under the reservoir. Abstract not to be interpreted as limiting.

Leak detection sensor assemblies for water heaters

A water heater includes a leak detection system. The leak detection system includes a leak sensor assembly that is disposed in a bottom pan of the water heater. The leak sensor assembly includes a sensor housing that has a sensor channel that is formed therein such that the sensor channel is disposed at an elevation from a base of the bottom pan when the sensor housing is disposed on the base of the bottom pan. Further, the leak sensor assembly includes a leak sensor that is disposed in the sensor channel of the sensor housing. The leak sensor detects water that leaks from the water heater and accumulates in the bottom pan when a level of the water in the bottom pan rises to the elevation of the sensor channel and the leak sensor that is disposed therein.

Water heater with an integrated leak detection system

A water heater includes a tank assembly that defines an insulation cavity between an inner storage tank and an outer jacket. The water heater includes a bottom pad that supports the tank assembly thereon. The bottom pad is disposed in a bottom pan. Gaskets are disposed between the bottom pad and the bottom pan of the water heater. The bottom pad and at least one of the gaskets include apertures that are configured to internally route a leak sensor assembly of the water heater from the bottom pan to a controller of the water heater through the insulation cavity while preventing a leak of insulation material from the insulation cavity to the bottom pan. The water heater also includes a mounting bracket that is coupled to the inner storage tank to securely hold and route a portion of the leak sensor assembly disposed in the insulation cavity to the controller.

CENTERING BASE FOR SEALING AN INSULATION CAVITY OF A WATER HEATING APPLIANCE

A water heating appliance includes a jacket wall, a tank base disposed within the jacket wall, and a centering base disposed under the tank base. The jacket wall engages an outer portion of the centering base to form a substantially liquid tight seal, and the substantially liquid tight seal at least partially prevents a flowable insulating material from traveling in between the jacket wall and the centering base to an exterior of the jacket wall.
