Connected-type hot-water supply system
A connected-type hot-water supply system includes hot-water supply apparatuses connected in parallel and a control means. The control means sets one main hot-water supply apparatus and sub-hot-water supply apparatuses, and performs leveling control of cumulative loads of the hot-water supply apparatuses by setting the main hot-water supply apparatus based on sequential rotation among the hot-water supply apparatuses. The control means includes a failure sign response mode in which it is determined whether there is a failure sign respectively for components of the hot-water supply apparatuses, and when a component of a part of hot-water supply apparatuses is a failure sign component determined to have a failure sign, a main use time of a hot-water supply apparatus having the failure sign component is increased, and the main use time is a main use time of serving as the main hot-water supply apparatus in the leveling control.
Systems and methods for flame monitoring in gas powered appliances
A gas powered water heater includes a storage tank, a main burner, a flame sensor assembly, and a controller communicatively coupled to the flame sensor assembly. The flame sensor assembly includes a probe positioned proximate the main burner to couple an electric current to the main burner through a flame on the main burner and not to couple an electric current to the main burner when the flame is not present on the main burner, and a detector that provides signals representative of the electric current provided through the probe. The controller is programmed to determine a length of time taken for a transition between a signal representative of no electric current and a signal representative of a steady state electric current, and determine, based at least in part on the determined length of time, a strength of the flame on the main burner.
SENSOR SYSTEM AND INTEGRATED HEATER-SENSOR FOR MEASURING AND CONTROLLING PERFORMANCE OF A HEATER SYSTEM
A heater system includes an integrated heater device and a control system. The integrated heater device includes a thermocouple for measuring temperature and one or more multiportion resistive elements that are operable as heaters to create a temperature differential between the fluid and air to detect the fluid, and as sensors to measure a fluid level. The control device operates the integrated heater device as a sensor or heater based on one or more performance characteristics of the heater system and self-calibrates the heater device.
Control method of gas furnace
A method of controlling a gas furnace comprising a gas valve for supplying a fuel gas to a manifold; a burner through which the fuel gas discharged from the manifold passes; an igniter for igniting a mixture of fuel gas passed through the burner and air; and an inducer for generating a flow in which a combustion gas generated by the burning of the mixture is discharged to an exhaust pipe via a heat exchanger, wherein the gas furnace performs a heating operation according to a heating signal or a heating stop according to a stop signal, includes the steps of: (a) receiving any one of the heating signal or the stop signal; (b) transmitting a signal to operate the inducer when the heating signal is received; (c) operating the igniter; (d) transmitting a signal to open the gas valve; (e) detecting whether the gas valve is opened or closed; (f) detecting a flow rate of the fuel gas in the manifold; and (g) displaying a normal operation of the heating operation, based on information detected in the steps (e) and (f).
DETERMINATION OF A FAULT STATUS OF A BOILER
This invention relates, but is not limited to, a method, a device, a computer program product and/or apparatus for performing diagnostics or fault determination of the operation of a boiler. The invention determines the fault status of the boiler by determining cold flow events in the time series output temperature data of the boiler and using the electrical energy data of the boiler in a time window of the cold flow event to determine the fault status based on a model. The invention further comprises a method of obtaining the model.
DETERMINATION OF A FAULT STATUS OF A BOILER
This invention relates, but is not limited to, a method, a device, a computer program product and/or apparatus for performing diagnostics or fault determination of the operation of a boiler. The invention determines the fault status of the boiler by determining cold flow events in the time series output temperature data of the boiler and using the electrical energy data of the boiler in a time window of the cold flow event to determine the fault status based on a model. The invention further comprises a method of obtaining the model.
LOW WATER CUT-OFF REMOTE MONITORING AND DIAGNOSING SYSTEM
A LWCO remote monitoring and diagnosing system or device features a signal processor configured to: receive signaling containing information for running a remote low water cut off (LWCO) mobile application, and also containing information about historical data related to a LWCO circuit that monitors and controls a burner of a boiler that opens and closes to provide water to the boiler depending on the water level in the boiler; and determine corresponding signaling containing information about the historical data requested based upon the signaling received.
VENT-FREE HEATER WITH ENVIRONMENTAL SENSORS
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a vent-free heater that may be installed in an area used for human occupancy, to provide heat to that area. Such a heater can comprise an environmental detector that senses ambient air conditions, and may provide data used to shut down the heater in predetermined threshold condition. In one implementation, a vent-free heater for installation in high altitudes can comprise a combustion region and a fuel supply component. The heater can comprise an environmental detector with a flameless sensor configured to detect an ambient level of a constituent of the atmosphere and generate a signal indicative of the constituent level; and a sensor interface that can control flow of fuel from the fuel supply, based at least upon a signal received from the sensor.
AUTOMATED WATER HEATER FLUSHING AND MONITORING SYSTEM
An automatically flushing water heater maintenance system may be provided, the system including a water heater and a water heater controller. The water heater may include an inlet, an outlet, and a flush outlet having a first control valve in flow communication therewith. The first control valve may be configured to control a flow of water and sediment through the flush outlet out of the water heater. The water heater controller may be configured to communicate with the first control valve by transmitting a first control signal to the first control valve, the first control signal configured to cause the first control valve to open or close as part of an automatic flushing process. As a result of the flushing, the useful life of the water heater may be extended, and/or water heater leakage alleviated. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon using the automatic water heater flushing functionality.

A method of determining presence of a flame in a furnace of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The method comprises determining, using a controller, whether a processor signal (G) is active, responsive to a determination that the processor signal (G) is active, determining, using the controller prior to assertion of a flame-test input control signal, an output state of a first comparator, responsive to a determination that the output state of the first comparator is high, determining, using the controller prior to assertion of the flame-test input control signal, an output state of a second comparator, and responsive to a determination that the output state of the second comparator is low, transmitting, using the controller, a notification that a flame is present.
