Direct current electric on-demand water heater
The disclosed technology includes an on-demand water heater which uses an electric heat source to heat the water. The on-demand water heater can have a low fluid capacity heating chamber which has an inlet and an outlet, an electric heat source for heating the water, and a controller to control the electric heat source and maintain the temperature of the water at a predetermined temperature setting. The on-demand water heater can be powered by a direct current power source. The on-demand water heater can also utilize a solar thermal system to provide additional heat to the water.
Water heater appliance and methods for anticipating recharge
A water heater appliance may include a casing, a tank, a temperature sensor, a heating system, and a controller. The controller may be in operative communication with the heating system. The controller may be configured to initiate a heating cycle. The heating cycle may include determining a future standby event and determining a contemporary depletion state from a plurality of set depletion states. The plurality of set depletion states may include a steady state and one or more depleted states. The heating cycle may further include calculating a recharge period according to a set formula corresponding to the determined contemporary depletion state and directing, prior to the future standby event, the water heater appliance to the steady state based on the recharge period.
WATER HEATER CONTROL SYSTEM AND STORAGE-TYPE ELECTRIC WATER HEATER
A water heater control system includes: a photovoltaic power generator interconnected with a commercial power supply, an electrical load circuit including a storage-type electric water heater using power from the commercial power supply and generated power of the photovoltaic power generator to perform a water heating operation of heating low temperature water to high temperature water and storing the high temperature water, and a HEMS controller limiting a water heating operation of the storage-type electric water heater by stopping or suppressing the water heating operation of the storage-type electric water heater when a power fee data for purchased power supplied to the electrical load circuit from the commercial power supply exceeds a standard monetary amount.
Automated water heater flushing and monitoring system
An automatically flushing water heater maintenance system may be provided, the system including a water heater and a water heater controller. The water heater may include an inlet, an outlet, and a flush outlet having a first control valve in flow communication therewith. The first control valve may be configured to control a flow of water and sediment through the flush outlet out of the water heater. The water heater controller may be configured to communicate with the first control valve by transmitting a first control signal to the first control valve, the first control signal configured to cause the first control valve to open or close as part of an automatic flushing process. As a result of the flushing, the useful life of the water heater may be extended, and/or water heater leakage alleviated. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon using the automatic water heater flushing functionality.
