20210302066 · 2021-09-30 ·

This disclosure is related to devices, systems, and techniques for controlling a temperature of water contained by a water tank. A controller includes a user interface configured to receive one or more user inputs indicative of a request to set a control parameter of the controller and communication circuitry configured to receive, from a user device, an electronic signal. Additionally, the controller includes processing circuitry configured to identify, from the electronic signal, one or more first data packets that include a request to disable an ability to change, based on the one or more user inputs received by the user interface, the control parameter of the controller and in response to receiving the one or more first data packets, disable the ability to change the control parameter of the controller.

CONTROL OF AN ELECTRIC WATER HEATER AS PER A LOAD SHEDDING REQUEST SIGNAL AND A SALUBRITY INDEX

A system and a method for controlling an electrical water heater as per a load shedding request signal are disclosed. A temperature sensor is positioned so as to measure a water temperature in a lower area of a tank of the water heater to be controlled. A controller continuously determines a salubrity index of the water heater as a function of the temperature measured by the sensor and a time measurement, and decides to interrupt an electrical power supply of the water heater through a switch so as to interrupt or not interrupt an operation of the water heater upon the load shedding request signal and only if the salubrity index meets a preestablished criterion.

HOT WATER SUPPLY DEVICE

A hot water supply device includes: a first pipe connected to a water inlet; a flow detector detecting a flow of water in the first pipe; a heating mechanism heating the water; a second pipe through which warm water flows, connected to the first pipe via a third pipe; a circulating pump disposed in a path of the first pipe, sending the warm water in the third pipe toward the heating mechanism during operation; and a control device. Based on acceptance of an execution command of an instant hot water circulation mode, the control device operates the circulating pump, and, in response to a set hot water output temperature exceeding a limit temperature, adjusts a heating temperature of the heating mechanism, so that the temperature of the warm water becomes equal to or lower than the limit temperature.

Load Based Hot Water Temperature Control
20210157346 · 2021-05-27 ·

A hot water delivery system includes a water heater, a mixing valve that is coupled to the output of the water heater, and a plurality of loads that are coupled to the output of the mixing valve. A load set point temperature of each load that is representative of a maximum temperature of the hot water that is to be delivered to the respective load is set by a user. Responsive to detecting the occurrence of an event associated with a load of the plurality of loads, a controller of the water heater controls the mixing valve to adjust the temperature of the hot water from the water heater to the load set point temperature associated with the load, provided the load set point temperature of the load is different from a water heater set point temperature at which the water heater maintains the hot water therein.

System and approach for water heater comfort and efficiency improvement

A system for heating water to improve safety and efficiency. The system may have normal operation measured in time. After a time of normal operation, a water temperature setpoint may be checked. If the setpoint is not at a certain level, normal operation may continue. If the setpoint is within the certain level, water temperature may be measured. If the water temperature is less than a desired level, one or more draws of water may be measured for a preset temperature drop. If the draws do not meet the temperature drop, a return to check the setpoint may be made. If the draws meet the temperature drop, the setpoint may be reduced and a time of normal operation may be measured to determine whether a burn cycle occurs within the time. If not, normal operation may continue; but if so, a return to check the setpoint may be made.

Hot water tank

A water heater includes a water tank and a flow-through heating element. The water tank contains heated water. The flow-through heating element is located in the lower portion of the water tank and heats water as water is passed through an interior channel of the heating element. In another configuration, the water heater further includes a recirculation line and the heating element further includes an input end external of the water tank to receive water to be heated and an output end to output heated water into the water tank. The recirculation line transports water from the water tank to the input end of the heating element that is external of the water tank.

HOT WATER SYSTEM FOR BIDET COMPRISING FLOW PATH GUIDE TANK AND HOT WATER MODE METHOD USING THE SAME

A hot water system for a bidet having a housing is provided. The hot water system includes: a water inlet pipe connected to a faucet; a flow path guide tank located at a lower portion in the housing so that water introduced into the water inlet pipe flows; a sheath heater provided in the housing and configured to heat water discharged from the flow path guide tank; and a water outlet pipe configured to supply water heated by the sheath heater to the outside. The flow path guide tank has a flow path guide hole formed through in an upward direction so that water introduced into the water inlet pipe flows into an upper portion inside the housing and exchanges heat with the sheath heater.

A circulating hot water system has a hot water flow circuit defined by pipework leading out from and back to an in-line heater, and including a pump to drive circulation of the hot water. Each of multiple user points has an outflow branch conduit and a return flow branch conduit with a common wall for heat exchange, as does the main flow circuit: the outflow conduit surrounds the return conduit. Water is fed into the system from a pressurized cold water supply main through a check valve. Sensors are used to monitor water temperatures and flow conditions around the system. A programmed control processor can control heating and pumping rates in various regimes, e.g. to maintain system temperature above a predetermined threshold. An isolation valve adapted for concentric double pipes is also described.
