Temperature Control System in a Passenger Service Unit
A temperature control system in an aircraft passenger service unit is disclosed. In embodiments, the system includes a swirl chamber configured to receive an inlet air stream, and a vortex tube configured to receive the inlet air stream from the swirl chamber and separate the inlet air stream into a warmer air stream and a cooler air stream. In embodiments, the system further includes a nozzle configured to direct a temperature-controlled air stream into a passenger space of an aircraft; wherein the nozzle is configured to be selectably adjusted in order to selectively blend the warmer air stream and the cooler air stream in order to generate the temperature-controlled air stream.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Systems and Methods
A heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system for use with a refrigerant. The HVAC system may comprise a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, an evaporator, and a separator. The compressor may be operable to compress the refrigerant. The condenser may be positioned downstream of the compressor and operable to condense the refrigerant. The expansion device may be positioned downstream of the condenser and operable to reduce a pressure of the refrigerant flowing therethrough. The evaporator may be positioned downstream of the expansion device and operable to vaporize the refrigerant from the expansion device. The separator may be positioned downstream of the expansion device and operable to separate the refrigerant into liquid refrigerant and gaseous refrigerant. The gaseous refrigerant from the separator and the liquid refrigerant from the separator may be combined prior to being compressed by the compressor.

Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes a main body that has a storage chamber and a drying chamber; a thermoelectric module that includes a heat absorber and a heat dissipater; a cooling fan that circulates air in the storage chamber to the heat absorber and the storage chamber; a heat-dissipating fan that blows air to the heat dissipater; an air guide that has a passage for guiding air heated by the heat dissipater to the drying chamber; a heater that is disposed in the passage; and a damper that controls a flow of air in the passage between the heat-dissipating fan and the heater. Heat of the heat dissipater transfers to the drying chamber through the passage of the air guide and the damper, thereby being able to dry an object to be dried.
Temperature control device and process control apparatus including a temperature control device
A process control apparatus includes a housing, a process control device disposed in the housing, and a temperature control device operably coupled to the housing for regulating a temperature of an atmosphere internal to the housing. The temperature control device includes a vortex tube and a flow control valve. The flow control valve is coupled to the vortex tube and includes a temperature sensing feature configured to sense a temperature of an atmosphere internal to the housing and configured to move a control element of the flow control valve based on the sensed temperature between a plurality of positions to selectively direct the flow of fluid from the first and second vortex outlets to the atmosphere internal to the housing.

Turbine cooling fan
Embodiments are provided for a cooling fan that has a vortex tube, an air turbine, and one or more fan blades. The vortex tube is capable of being supplied with compressed air and splitting the compressed air into a cold stream and a hot stream. The cold stream can spins said air turbine with attached fan blades, causing said fan blades to spin and blow cold air.

Portable refrigeration canister
A portable refrigeration container is usable for cooling a bottle of drinkable fluid. It includes a tubular body, a vortex tube, an electronic programmable controller, a tank of compressed air, a battery, a Peltier device, a heat exchanger, and a removable electrical charging station. Optionally, the portable refrigeration container further includes a compressor, a dynamo, and a bracket for attachment to a bicycle frame. The optional compressor and dynamo that electrically recharges the battery, may share a single shaft that is rotatably connected to turn with a bicycle wheel.
