An absorption cooling system that includes a plurality of solar collectors, a generator containing a dilute absorbent-refrigerant solution, a condenser, an evaporator, an absorber, a heat exchanger located between the generator and the absorber, first, second, and third storage tanks, a first temperature control valve located between the solar collectors and the first storage tank, a second temperature control valve located between the first storage tank and the generator, and a plurality of additional valves, wherein the first temperature control valve and the second temperature control valve are configured to regulate a flow of a heating fluid into the generator by automatically toggling between an open mode or a closed mode in response to a controller signal indicating a presence or an absence of a set point of a solid absorbent content in the dilute absorbent-refrigerant solution of the generator.

An absorption cooling system that includes a plurality of solar collectors, a generator containing a dilute absorbent-refrigerant solution, a condenser, an evaporator, an absorber, a heat exchanger located between the generator and the absorber, first, second, and third storage tanks, a first temperature control valve located between the solar collectors and the first storage tank, a second temperature control valve located between the first storage tank and the generator, and a plurality of additional valves, wherein the first temperature control valve and the second temperature control valve are configured to regulate a flow of a heating fluid into the generator by automatically toggling between an open mode or a closed mode in response to a controller signal indicating a presence or an absence of a set point of a solid absorbent content in the dilute absorbent-refrigerant solution of the generator.
SOLAR HEATING FOR REFRIGERATION AND FLUID HEATING DEVICES
A fluid-based system for use in heating and/or cooling. In particular, the system may have a fluid heating device, which may be a solar fluid heating device, configured to heat a fluid. Heat from the heated fluid may be transferred to one or more cooling subsystems or heating subsystems. A cooling subsystem may be an absorption cooling subsystem, for example, wherein heat may cause phase change of a refrigerant. A heating subsystem may include a storage tank through which heated fluid may be circulated to heat the storage tank. A system of the present disclosure may include multiple cooling and/or heating subsystems for cooling and or heating a variety of different environments, objects, or materials.
SOLAR HEATING FOR REFRIGERATION AND FLUID HEATING DEVICES
A fluid-based system for use in heating and/or cooling. In particular, the system may have a fluid heating device, which may be a solar fluid heating device, configured to heat a fluid. Heat from the heated fluid may be transferred to one or more cooling subsystems or heating subsystems. A cooling subsystem may be an absorption cooling subsystem, for example, wherein heat may cause phase change of a refrigerant. A heating subsystem may include a storage tank through which heated fluid may be circulated to heat the storage tank. Energy storage device
This invention relates to a chemisorption based energy storage device, able to provide electricity, heating or cooling depending on the desired energy output. The device typically comprises sorbent materials which have an affinity for a refrigerant gas at different temperatures.
Vehicle waste energy harvesting system
An adsorption based system is provided for the selective cooling and heating of a vehicle compartment using by-product water collected from a power generating unit of a vehicle. The system may include a fuel cell stack and an exhaust conduit configured to transfer an exhaust stream from the fuel cell stack. A water reservoir stores by-product water collected from the exhaust stream. The system may include a coolant loop configured to circulate a coolant fluid. A detachable adsorption subsystem is in thermal communication with the coolant loop and the exhaust conduit, and may include an evaporator and an adsorbent bed. The adsorption subsystem is configured to: vaporize water from the water reservoir using the evaporator; adsorb the vaporized water, thereby cooling a portion of the coolant fluid; regenerate the adsorbent bed using heat from the exhaust stream to release water vapor; and direct the water vapor into the exhaust conduit.

SORPTION SYSTEM IN A TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
A transport refrigeration system (TRS) and method of operating a TRS having a sorption subsystem are disclosed. The TRS includes a refrigeration subsystem and a sorption subsystem. The refrigeration subsystem includes a refrigerant, a compressor, a refrigerant condenser, a refrigerant expansion device, and a refrigerant evaporator in fluid communication such that the refrigerant can flow therethrough. The sorption subsystem includes a heat transfer fluid, a heat source, a boiler, a sorption condenser, a sorption expansion valve, a sorption evaporator, and a pump in fluid communication such that the heat transfer fluid can flow therethrough. The sorption evaporator is in thermal communication with the refrigeration subsystem.
