The refrigeration subsystem includes a refrigerant, a compressor, a refrigerant condenser, a refrigerant expansion device, and a refrigerant evaporator in fluid communication such that the refrigerant can flow therethrough. The sorption subsystem includes a heat transfer fluid, a heat source, a boiler, a sorption condenser, a sorption expansion valve, a sorption evaporator, and a pump in fluid communication such that the heat transfer fluid can flow therethrough. The sorption evaporator is in thermal communication with the refrigeration subsystem.
Machine for air-cooled absorption
The invention relates to the design of an air cooled absorption machine. Said machine has a hollow design via which air can circulate inside same by forced convention having a parallelepiped form. The air enters by suction via the sides and leaves via the upper face of the machine, where the ventilator is located. The machine comprises falling-film heat exchangers with improved designs for heat and mass transfer.
ABSORPTION CHILLER SYSTEM WITH A TRANSPORT MEMBRANE HEAT EXCHANGER
An absorption chiller system includes a generator section, a condenser section, an evaporator section and an absorber section all in fluid communication with each other and which operate to circulate a refrigerant therethrough. The evaporator section includes a transport membrane heat exchanger. The transport membrane heat exchanger includes a first and a second flow path. The first flow path is operable to flow the refrigerant therethrough under a vacuum pressure that is low enough to vaporize the refrigerant within the first flow path. The second flow path is operable to pass a fluid having water therethrough. Both water and heat are transferred from the fluid in the second flow path to the refrigerant in the first flow path through a membrane-based material of the transport membrane heat exchanger, such that the fluid passing through the second flow path has at least a portion of its water removed and is cooled.
COLD ENERGY STORAGE
Disclosed is a cold storage container able to keep its contents cool for long periods without using electricity by using the phenomenon of adsorption. An adsorbent material placed in a conductive material above an insulated vacuum chamber adsorbs water vapor from the melting ice surrounding or above a cold chamber where contents are kept cold. This generates continuous evaporation which cools the water and therefore the contents of the cold chamber.
Refrigerative system including a refrigerative condenser/cooler
A liquid absorption refrigeration system and a tube and channel heat exchanger include: an absorber section to contain a saturated strong solution; a pump connected to an outlet of the absorber section to receive saturated strong solution therefrom; a regenerator section connected to an outlet of the pump to receive a flow of pressurized saturated strong solution therefrom; an expansion device connected to an outlet of the regenerator section to receive a flow of subcooled strong solution therefrom; an evaporator section connected to an outlet of the expansion device to receive the subcooled strong solution therefrom, the evaporator section connected to the absorber section to return strong solution thereto; and a condenser section connected to the evaporator section to receive a refrigerant evaporated from the subcooled strong solution in the evaporator, the condenser section connected to the absorber section to return liquid refrigerant thereto.
Evaporation and absorption unit
An evaporator for an absorption heat pump or a single coolant cooling process comprises a number of stacked plates provided with a pressed pattern to hold the plates on a distance from one another to form a heat exchanging strip, vapor leading spaces and outer walls, the heat exchanging strip being designed such that flow channels are formed by internal surfaces of the strip, said flow channels connecting a heat carrier inlet and a heat carrier outlet, wherein a coolant forms a falling film on external surfaces of the heat carrier channels by being provided above the heat carrier channels by a coolant inlet, wherein coolant being vaporized from the external surfaces by heat from a heat carrier flowing from the inlet to the outlet rapidly enters the vapor leading spaces. The vapor leading spaces are provided between the heat exchanging strip and the outer walls.
