Refrigeration system with multiple heat absorbing heat exchangers

Refrigeration systems are described. The systems include a compression device, a heat rejecting heat exchanger, an ejector, and first and second expansion devices with respective heat absorbing heat exchangers. The ejector is arranged to receive refrigerant fluid from the heat rejecting heat exchanger at a high pressure inlet of the ejector. Fluid pathways extend from an outlet of the ejector into a branched flow path to provide flows of refrigerant from the ejector to the first and second expansion devices. The first heat absorbing heat exchanger provides cooling at a first temperature and refrigerant fluid from the outlet of the first heat absorbing heat exchanger is directed to a low pressure inlet of the ejector. The second heat absorbing heat exchanger provides cooling at a second temperature and refrigerant fluid from the outlet of the second heat absorbing heat exchanger is directed to the inlet of the compression device.

Cooling and desalination system

A cooling and desalination system includes a humidification-dehumidification (HDH) system and an ejector cooling cycle (ECC) system. The HDH system includes a heater for heating saline water, a humidifier for humidifying a carrier gas using the saline water, and a dehumidifier for dehumidifying the carrier gas to obtain desalinated water. The ECC system includes a generator for generating a primary flow of a refrigerant, an evaporator for cooling and providing a secondary flow of the refrigerant, an ejector for the primary flow and the secondary flow to pass through to obtain a super-heated stream, and a condenser. The heater and the generator are configured to connect to a heat source. The ECC system and the HDH system are connected at the condenser for heat exchange between the super-heated stream and the saline water to pre-heat the saline water.

Adaptive trans-critical CO2 cooling system

A cooling system includes a heat exchanger through which a refrigerant flows, the heat exchanger having a fluid passing therethrough such that heat is rejected to the fluid, an evaporator, a refrigerant piping split point that receives the refrigerant at a given pressure from the heat exchanger and splits the refrigerant flow into a first circuit and a second circuit, the first circuit having an expansion valve that receives the refrigerant at the given pressure, and the second circuit having a first turbine coupled to a first compressor, wherein the first turbine receives the refrigerant at the given pressure, and a set of valves arranged to direct the refrigerant through the first circuit, the second circuit, or both the first and second circuits based on ambient conditions of the cooling system.

Temperature chamber and method

A temperature chamber for conditioning air includes a temperature-insulated space which receives test material, and a temperature control device for controlling the temperature of the test space. The temperature control device allows a temperature in a range of −50° C. to +180° C. to be established within the space, and has a cooling device including a cooling circuit with a refrigerant, a heat exchanger, a compressor, a condenser, and an expansion element. A jet device is connected to a low-pressure side of the cooling circuit downstream of the heat exchanger and upstream of the compressor, a first bypass is connected to a high-pressure side of the cooling circuit downstream of the compressor, and the refrigerant is suppliable to the jet device from the high-pressure side via the first bypass as a driving fluid.

Enhanced thermally-driven ejector cycles

A refrigerated system includes a heat recovery system defining a heat recovery fluid flow path. The heat recovery system includes an ejector having a primary inlet and a secondary inlet and a first heat exchanger within which heat is transferred between a heat recovery fluid and a secondary fluid. The first heat exchanger is located upstream from the primary inlet of the ejector. A second heat exchanger within which heat is transferred from a heat transfer fluid to the heat recovery fluid is upstream from the secondary inlet of the ejector. At least one recovery heat exchanger is positioned along the heat recovery fluid flow path directly upstream from the first heat exchanger.

Ejector Cycle

A system has a first compressor and a second compressor. A heat rejection heat exchanger is coupled to the first and second compressors to receive refrigerant compressed by the compressors. The system includes an economizer for receiving refrigerant from the heat rejection heat exchanger and reducing an enthalpy of a first portion of the received refrigerant while increasing an enthalpy of a second portion. The second portion is returned to the compressor. The ejector has a primary inlet coupled to the means to receive a first flow of the reduced enthalpy refrigerant. The ejector has a secondary inlet and an outlet. The outlet is coupled to the first compressor to return refrigerant to the first compressor. A first heat absorption heat exchanger is coupled to the economizer to receive a second flow of the reduced enthalpy refrigerant and is upstream of the secondary inlet of the ejector. A second heat absorption heat exchanger is between the outlet of the ejector and the first compressor.

The second ejector has a primary inlet coupled to the liquid outlet of the first separator to receive refrigerant, a secondary inlet, and an outlet. The second separator has an inlet coupled to an outlet of the second ejector to receive refrigerant from the second ejector, a gas outlet coupled to the compressor to return refrigerant to the compressor, and a liquid outlet. The second heat absorption heat exchanger is coupled to the liquid outlet of the second separator to receive refrigerant and to the secondary inlet of the second ejector to deliver refrigerant to the second ejector.
