Ejector module

When an ejector having a variable nozzle and a variable throttle mechanism are integrated together as an ejector module, a nozzle-side central axis CL1 and a decompression-side driving mechanism have a twisted positional relationship, if the nozzle-side central axis CL1 is defined as a central axis of a nozzle-side driving mechanism in a displacement direction in which the nozzle-side driving mechanism of the ejector having the variable nozzle displaces a needle valve, and the decompression-side central axis CL2 is defined as a central axis of a decompression-side driving mechanism in a displacement direction in which the decompression-side driving mechanism of the variable throttle mechanism displaces a throttle valve. When viewed from the central axis direction of one of the nozzle-side central axis CL1 and the decompression-side central axis CL2, a driving portion corresponding to the one central axis is disposed to overlap with the other central axis.

In order to provide climate control system for heating or cooling a space, in particular a vehicle interior, having a compressor for conveying a refrigerant, which can efficiently use the refrigerant CO.sub.2 for heat pump applications as well, it is proposed to arrange a high-pressure chiller for cooling the refrigerant downstream of the compressor and a low-pressure chiller for heating the refrigerant upstream of the compressor, wherein a refrigerant exiting from the high-pressure chiller can be supplied to a motive mass inlet of a first ejector and a refrigerant exiting from the low-pressure chiller can be supplied to a suction mass inlet of the first ejector, and wherein an outlet of the first ejector is connected directly or indirectly to a liquid separator.

Refrigeration system and method for operating same

A refrigeration system operable in cooling mode and defrosting mode is provided. The refrigeration system includes a defrost line connecting a first reservoir to an evaporation stage for conveying at least part of the flash gas from the first reservoir to the evaporation stage when the refrigeration system is operating in defrosting mode. The flash gas thereby releases heat in the evaporation stage for defrosting the evaporation stage. The refrigeration system can also include a discharge line connecting the evaporation stage to a second reservoir.

A cooling system implements various processes to improve efficiency in high ambient temperatures. First, the system can flood one or more low side heat exchangers in the system. Second, the system can direct a portion of vapor refrigerant from a low side heat exchanger to a flash tank rather than to a compressor. Third, the system can transfer heat from refrigerant at a compressor suction to refrigerant at the discharge of a high side heat exchanger.

The ejector may include an ejector body having a suction portion into which a high pressure refrigerant and a low pressure refrigerant may be suctioned, and having a mixing portion provided at one side of the suction portion and configured to mix the high pressure refrigerant with the low pressure refrigerant; a nozzle movably provided in the suction portion, and configured to inject the high pressure refrigerant; a needle inserted into an end of the nozzle and configured to control a flow sectional area of the nozzle; and a nozzle drive configured to drive the nozzle so as to be relatively movable with respect to the mixing portion and the needle. As a flow sectional area of a high pressure refrigerant passage and a flow sectional area of a low pressure refrigerant passage are controlled, a driving efficiency of the ejector may be enhanced.

A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A VALVE ARRANGEMENT IN A VAPOUR COMPRESSION SYSTEM

A method for controlling a valve arrangement (12), e.g. in the form of a three way valve, in a vapour compression system (1) is disclosed, the vapour compression system (1) comprising an ejector (6). The valve arrangement (12) is arranged to supply refrigerant to a compressor unit (2) from the gaseous outlet (11) of a receiver (7) and/or from the outlet of an evaporator (9). The vapour compression system (1) may be operated in a first mode of operation (summer mode) or in a second mode of operation (winter mode). When operated in the second mode of operation, it is determined whether or not conditions for operating the vapour compression system (1) in the first mode of operation are prevailing. If this is the case, the valve arrangement (12) is actively switched to the first mode of operation by closing a first inlet (13) towards the evaporator (7) and fully opening a second inlet (14) towards the receiver (7).

EJECTOR-TYPE REFRIGERATION CYCLE DEVICE

When intended to increase a refrigerant discharge capacity of a compressor in an ejector refrigeration cycle device at start-up of the compressor, the refrigerant discharge capacity is increased in such a manner that an increase amount in the refrigerant discharge capacity of the compressor per predetermined time period is lower than a maximum capacity increase amount per predetermined time period enabled by the compressor. Thus, even if a gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant flows into a refrigerant inflow passage forming a swirling-flow generating portion, the flow velocity of the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant is prevented from becoming high, so that it can reduce friction noise that would be caused when the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant circulates through the refrigerant inflow passage, further suppressing the generation of noise from the ejector.

EJECTOR-TYPE REFRIGERATION CYCLE

An ejector-type refrigeration cycle has a compressor, an ejector module, a discharge capacity control section, and a pressure difference determining section. The ejector module has a body providing a gas-liquid separating space. The pressure difference determining section determines whether a low pressure difference operating condition is met. The low pressure difference operating condition is an operating condition in which a pressure difference obtained by subtracting a low-pressure side refrigerant pressure from a high-pressure side refrigerant pressure a predetermined reference pressure difference or lower. The body is provided with an oil return passage that guides a part of a liquid-phase refrigerant to flow from the gas-liquid separating space to a suction side of the compressor. The discharge capacity control section sets a refrigerant discharge capacity to be a predetermined reference discharge capacity or higher when the low pressure difference operating condition is determined to be met.
