Air conditioner and motor controller
An air conditioner is provided that reduces user discomfort due to vibrations and noises at a compressor, piping, and the like such as of an air conditioner. To achieve this, an air conditioner includes: a compressor (10) that has a motor (12) and a compression mechanism (14) driven by the motor (12); a speed detector (43) that detects a rotation speed of the motor (12); a drive mode controller (48) that controls a drive mode of the motor (12); and refrigerant piping that is connected to the compression mechanism (14) and allows a refrigerant to flow therethrough, wherein the drive mode controller (48), for stopping the motor (12), decelerates the motor (12) to a rotation speed equal to or lower than a resonance frequency between the compression mechanism (14) and the refrigerant piping.
AIR CONDITIONER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF AIR CONDITIONER
An air conditioner includes a compressor having a compressor motor including coils, an indoor fan having a fan motor, a connection switching unit that switches a connection state of the coils between a first connection state and a second connection state in which a line voltage is lower than a line voltage in the first connection state, and a controller that controls the compressor motor, the fan motor, and the connection switching unit. The controller provides a stop period during which rotation of the compressor motor stops before the connection switching unit switches the connection state of the coils, and rotates the fan motor for at least a time period within the stop period.
Ultrasonic enhanced heat exchanger systems and methods
In one embodiment, a cooling system includes an evaporator, which further includes an evaporator tube, a first mechanical wave emitter, and a control system communicatively coupled to the first mechanical wave emitter. The cooling system is configured to circulate refrigerant through the evaporator tube to facilitate heat exchange between the refrigerant and fluid surrounding the evaporator tube. The first mechanical wave emitter is configured to output first mechanical waves to the evaporator tube, and the control system is configured to instruct the first mechanical wave emitter to output the first mechanical waves to enhance nucleation of the refrigerant in the evaporator tube.
VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE FOR A HVAC&R SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) system that includes a variable speed drive configured to provide power to a motor that drives a compressor of the HVAC&R system and a silicon carbide transistor of the variable speed drive, where the silicon carbide transistor is configured to adjust a voltage, or a frequency, or both of power flowing through the variable speed drive.
REFRIGERATION DEVICE
Electric power generated by a generator driven by an engine is converted into an alternating current of any arbitrary frequency by an inverter. A compressor of a refrigeration cycle includes a motor driven by power supplied from the inverter and a refrigerant compression unit rotatably driven by the motor to suck in, compress, and discharge refrigerant. A mode changeover switch is switchable between a start/stop operation mode that allows the engine to start and stop, and a continuous operation mode in which the engine is continuously operated. When the start/stop operation mode is selected by the mode changeover switch, the controller controls the inverter such that the target rotation speed of the compressor is fixed at a high rotation speed which is higher than the rotation speed according to the difference between the set temperature and the internal temperature.
Pulse width modulation upshift at partial load to improve total harmonic cancellation performance for chiller applications
A pulse width modulation (PWM) based active harmonic filter (AHF) system including a controller configured to adjust a load on the system from a first to a second load, the first load being greater than the second load, wherein the controller is configured to adjust a frequency of the system from a first to a second frequency when the load is equal to the second load, and wherein the second frequency is greater than the first; a first harmonic compensator configured to filter a first order of harmonics of a load when the load is equal to the second load; and a second harmonic compensator configured to filter a second order of harmonics of the load in parallel with the first order of harmonics when the load is equal to the second load and frequency equals the second frequency, the second order of harmonics being greater than the first order.
DRIVING DEVICE, AIR CONDITIONER, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COMPRESSOR
A driving device is used with a compressor including a motor including coils. The driving device drives the motor. The driving device includes an inverter connected to the coils, a connection switching unit to switch a connection state of the coils between a first connection state and a second connection state, a controller to control the inverter and the connection switching unit, and a compressor state detection unit to detect a state of the compressor. When the connection state of the coils is the first connection state, the controller controls the motor based on a first detection value detected by the compressor state detection unit and a first threshold. When the connection state of the coils is the second connection state, the controller controls the motor based on a second detection value detected by the compressor state detection unit and a second threshold.
