A water regulator includes a water regulation valve, a first temperature sensor, a second temperature sensor, and a controller. The water regulation valve regulates a quantity of water flowing through water pipes. The first temperature sensor measures a temperature of one of the water pipes which is connected to an inlet of a heat exchanger. The second temperature sensor measures a temperature of one of the water pipes which is connected to an outlet of the heat exchanger. The controller controls an opening degree of the water regulation valve, based on a difference between the temperature measured by the first temperature sensor and the temperature measured by the second temperature sensor.

SENSOR ASSEMBLY

A sensor assembly is shown for sensing a crossing of the critical point in a system utilising a working fluid in a transcritical cycle passing through the critical point. A first broadband acoustic sensor is located upstream of a component and a second broadband acoustic sensor is located downstream of the component, each of which are arranged to detect high-frequency and low-frequency sounds caused by the crossing of the critical point. A flow regulation device regulates flow of working fluid through the component in response to the output of one or both of the first broadband acoustic sensor and the second broadband acoustic sensor, thereby adjusting the location of the crossing of the critical point.

EJECTOR-TYPE REFRIGERATION CYCLE DEVICE

When intended to increase a refrigerant discharge capacity of a compressor in an ejector refrigeration cycle device at start-up of the compressor, the refrigerant discharge capacity is increased in such a manner that an increase amount in the refrigerant discharge capacity of the compressor per predetermined time period is lower than a maximum capacity increase amount per predetermined time period enabled by the compressor. Thus, even if a gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant flows into a refrigerant inflow passage forming a swirling-flow generating portion, the flow velocity of the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant is prevented from becoming high, so that it can reduce friction noise that would be caused when the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant circulates through the refrigerant inflow passage, further suppressing the generation of noise from the ejector.
