Refrigeration cycle apparatus
In a refrigeration cycle apparatus, a refrigerant heat exchanger is provided within a refrigerant container, and the refrigerant heat exchanger is configured to exchange heat between refrigerant flowing through a bypass circuit and refrigerant accumulated in the refrigerant container.
AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS
Provided is an air-conditioning apparatus configured so that a decrease in a refrigeration capacity can be suppressed without increasing the amount of refrigerant with which a refrigerant circuit is filled and that refrigerant can be suitably stored during a pump down operation. The air-conditioning apparatus includes a first on-off valve provided at a pipe between an expansion valve and a use side heat exchanger, a bypass branching from a pipe between the expansion valve and the first on-off valve and connected to a pipe at a suction-side of a compressor, and a refrigerant storage unit configured to store the refrigerant having passed through the bypass. In a pump down operation in which the compressor operates with the first on-off valve being in a closed state, the refrigerant having flowed out from the heat source side heat exchanger flows into the bypass, and then, is stored in the refrigerant storage unit.
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED CHARGING AND START-UP CONTROL
A system for starting a refrigeration system includes a liquid line regulating valve, a liquid line charging valve, a suction line expansion valve, a suction line charging valve, and a controller. The controller is configured to override normal operation of the refrigeration system and transmit a demand signal to enable partial system operation. The controller is configured to operate the liquid line regulating valve and the liquid line charging valve to charge a receiver tank, gradually increase the demand signal to a predetermined level of partial system operation, and release the liquid line charging valve to normal operation. The controller is configured to operate the suction line expansion valve and the suction line charging valve to charge a suction line, gradually increase the demand signal to full system operation, and release the liquid line regulating valve, the suction line expansion valve, and the suction line charging valve to normal operation.
Active refrigerant charge compensation for refrigeration and air conditioning systems
A variable refrigerant charge refrigeration/air conditioner system is described that allows the refrigerant charge for the system to be altered based on operating or environmental factors. The system includes a main refrigerant loop holding a volume of refrigerant corresponding to a first level of refrigerant charge, a compressor in the main refrigerant loop, a condenser in the main refrigerant loop, and an evaporator in the main refrigerant loop. A branch refrigerant loop allows the alteration of the refrigerant charge using a control valve in the branch refrigerant loop and a receiver in the branch refrigerant loop. The receiver acts to hold a volume of refrigerant when the control valve is open, thereby removing the volume of refrigerant from the main refrigerant loop. A return path from the receiver to the main refrigerant loop allows refrigerant to flow back into the main loop from the receiver.
Subcritical Carbon Dioxide Dehumidifier
A subcritical carbon dioxide dehumidifier having a compressor, a condenser, a receiver, an expansion valve, an evaporator, and an expansion tank and using carbon dioxide as a refrigerant.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK MITIGATION
A method of operating an HVAC system includes compressing a working fluid using a compressor, removing heat from the working fluid using a condenser, removing pressure from the working fluid using an expansion valve, and transferring heat between airflow contacting an outer surface of one or more coils in an evaporator and the working fluid passing through the one or more coils. The method further includes detecting a leak of the working fluid using a leak detection sensor. The method further includes transporting at least a portion of the working fluid to a storage container and storing the working fluid in the storage container.
Pressure fluid handling system
A pressure fluid handling system includes a closed pressure fluid circuit. The pressure fluid circuit includes, connected in series, a compressor and a pressure sink and a primary pressure fluid route from the compressor to the pressure sink and a secondary pressure fluid route from the pressure sink to the compressor. The pressure fluid handling system further includes a pressure fluid accumulator connected to the pressure fluid circuit via a first pressure fluid accumulator conduit. The first pressure fluid accumulator conduit includes a pump configured to pump pressure fluid from the pressure fluid circuit to the pressure fluid accumulator to lower the pressure levels in the pressure fluid circuit, and in that the pressure fluid handling system includes a controllable component for returning the pressure fluid from the pressure fluid accumulator to the pressure fluid circuit to increase the pressure levels in the pressure fluid circuit.
