Device and method for making ice cubes, comprising a supplying device for supplying a liquid substance to at least one elongated mould (1) and a refrigerating device for freezing said liquid substance, which at least one mould defines a space for an ice column which is at least substantially closed at least while said liquid substance is being refrigerated. The at least one mould comprises two mould halves (1a, 1b) which are movable relative to each other, so that the mould halves can be moved apart once the ice column has been formed. Method for making ice cubes, comprising the steps of a) supplying a liquid substance to a mould, b) freezing the liquid substance in the mould, and c) removing the ice cubes thus formed from the mould, wherein the liquid substance is supplied in step a) to a mould comprising an at least substantially closed space. Metering device for ice cubes.

ICE MAKING ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR MAKING CLEAR ICE

Ice making assemblies and methods for making ice, and particularly clear ice, are provided herein. The methods of making ice may include providing a volume of water within a mold cavity defined by an ice mold. The volume of water may be demineralized. Additionally or alternatively, the mold cavity may be pre-chilled to a sub-freezing temperature. Also additionally or alternatively, a freezer chamber in which the ice mold is provided may be directed to one or more sub-freezing temperatures while the volume of water is within the mold cavity.

Clear ice maker

An ice maker includes an ice making tray having an array of individual ice cube compartments. The ice making tray having a transverse axis and at least one pivot axle aligned with the transverse axis. The tray defines a median wall extending parallel with the transverse axis and having a uniform height along the length of the wall. A mechanical oscillating mechanism is coupled to the ice making tray. The oscillating mechanism rotates the tray from a horizontal plane along the longitudinal axis at an angle of about 20 to about 40 such that water in the tray cascades over the median wall.

An ice maker (100) includes an ice-making water tank (10), a water storage tank (20), a pipe assembly, a reversing member (40), and a driving member (50). The pipe assembly comprises a first branch pipe (310), a second branch pipe (320), and a third branch pipe (330). The first branch pipe (310) is connected to the water storage tank (20). The second branch pipe (320) and the third branch pipe (330) are separately connected to the ice-making water tank (10). The reversing member (40) is separately connected to the three branch pipes to control two of the branch pipes to be communicated and the rest one of the branch pipes to disconnected. The driving member (50) is connected to the third branch pipe in series. During ice making, the reversing member (40) controls the second branch pipe (320) and the third branch pipe (330) to be communicated and controls the first branch pipe (310) to be disconnected. The driving member (50) operates to drive the water to circulate among the ice-making water tank (10), the second branch pipe (320) and the third branch pipe (330).
