Ice maker and refrigerator
An ice maker of a refrigerator includes an upper assembly having an upper tray that defines upper portions of a plurality of spherical ice making chambers. The ice maker also includes a lower assembly located vertically below the upper assembly and configured to rotate relative to the upper assembly about a rotation shaft and having lower tray that defines lower portions of the plurality of spherical ice making chambers. The ice maker also includes a lower ejector unit that is located vertically below the lower tray and that is configured to, based on the lower assembly rotating away from the upper assembly, push the lower tray through the lower support to thereby discharge the ice piece from the ice making chamber. The lower tray includes a deformable portion at each of the plurality of spherical ice making chambers that is configured to be pushed by the lower ejector unit.
ICE MAKER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR ICE MAKER
An ice maker 1 includes an ice making tray 5, a driving unit 6 configured to flip the ice making tray 5 around a predetermined axis, a water supply mechanism 8, and a control unit 19 configured to control driving of the driving unit 6 and the water supply mechanism 8, and a setting switch 22 configured to set a water supply time of water to be supplied from the water supply mechanism 8 to the ice making tray 5. If the water supply time is set to a first water supply time, a second water supply time, or a third water supply time by the operation on the setting switch 22 (steps ST20, ST25, ST28), the ice maker 1 performs a setting confirmation operation to swing the ice making tray 5 the number of times corresponding to the set water supply time (steps ST21, ST26, ST29).
Ice Maker and Refrigerator Having Same
An ice maker and a refrigerator having the same are disclosed. A refrigerator may include a main body having a storage room therein; a compressor at one side of the main body, configured to compress refrigerant; a door on the main body, configured to open and close the storage room; and an ice maker in the storage room, wherein the ice maker may include a case having an external shape; an ice tray configured to contain water; a guide unit under the ice tray, forming a path for flowing cold air; an ice bucket under the guide unit and comprising a container having a concave center portion; an ice making fan inside the case configured to generate or facilitate a flow of air; and a rotation unit configured to move the ice in the ice tray to the ice bucket.
ICE MAKER FOR REFRIGERATOR
The present invention relates generally to an ice maker for a refrigerator appliance. More particularly, the present invention relates to an ice maker having an ice crushing part for crushing ice cubes into crushed ice, the ice cubes being moved downward from above the ice crushing part for supply thereof. In one embodiment, an ice maker is described for a refrigerator, the ice maker comprising: an ice tray secured to a tray securing part and having multiple recesses for ice making; the tray securing part operable to secure the ice tray and configured to cause the ice tray to be rotated in conjunction with a rotation thereof, such that ice formed in the recesses is discharged downward; and an ice crushing part coupled to a lower surface of the tray securing part and configured to crush ice cubes supplied by a rotation of the ice tray, thereby forming crushed ice. The ice crushing part includes a body portion, a crushing lever, an ice crushing part driver and first and second rotating bodies configured to be rotated by the ice crushing part driver.
REFRIGERATOR
A water pocket with an open top side is filled with water, mounted in a regular position on a supporting frame, and tilts to supply the water stored in the water pocket to an ice making tray, thereby easily supplying a required amount of water to the ice making tray. A refrigerator includes an ice making tray provided to linearly move with rotation when ice of the ice making tray is separated, or includes a holding preventing member which prevents the ice from being caught by a lower ice making tray, thereby improving a forward-and-backward width of an ice maker. It is possible to easily withdraw ice stored in an ice bucket by pushing an ice discharge button in a state in which the ice bucket is not separated.
Ice maker
In an ice maker with a tray having at least one water-receiving cavity, a wall of the cavity contains a phase change material. If an ice maker of this kind is pre-cooled, so that the phase change material is solid, a great deal of heat can be removed from water poured into the cavities in a short time by the heat causing the phase change material to melt.
HYBRID TWIST TRAY ICE MAKER
An ice maker includes a harvest motor and an ice tray operably coupled to the harvest motor. The ice tray has a plurality of heat sinks coupled to a bottom section of ice forming cavities on the ice tray. The harvest motor is operable to twist the ice tray for causing the plurality of heat sinks to move relative to each other for releasing ice pieces from the ice forming cavities.
Clear ice maker
An ice maker includes an ice making tray having an array of individual ice cube compartments. The ice making tray having a transverse axis and at least one pivot axle aligned with the transverse axis. The tray defines a median wall extending parallel with the transverse axis and having a uniform height along the length of the wall. A mechanical oscillating mechanism is coupled to the ice making tray. The oscillating mechanism rotates the tray from a horizontal plane along the longitudinal axis at an angle of about 20 to about 40 such that water in the tray cascades over the median wall.
ICE MAKING ASSEMBLY WITH TWIST ICE TRAY AND DIRECTIONAL COOLING
A method of making clear ice including filling an ice piece forming tray having an axis of rotation, a distal end, a motor engaging end, and plurality of ice piece making compartments with water. Freezing the water into ice by providing heat sinks disposed on and thermally connected to a bottom side of the ice piece forming tray. Removing heat from the plurality of heat sinks. Removing defrost water from the heat sinks by providing at least one defrost water channel along the axis of rotation, providing at least one defrost water channel along one of the distal end and the motor engaging end and connected to the defrost water channel along the axis of rotation. And delivering defrost water to a drain or defrost water catch tray positioned at one of the distal end and the motor engaging end.
