CRYOGENIC SYSTEMS
Cryogenic devices are provided in which solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) is used to maintain a temperature zone in which samples can be manipulated under conditions in which the sample is maintained at a temperature below −50° C.
Dry ice draw through galley cooling
A galley cart system employs a dry ice compartment and a refrigeration compartment in a galley cart in flow communication with the dry ice compartment. A ventilation system is in interruptible flow communication with at least the refrigeration compartment and configured to receive gas discharged from at least the refrigeration compartment.
Compartmentalized shipping container for temperature control material distribution
An insulated shipping container is provided for maintaining a substantially uniform internal temperature. The base, walls and lid of an outer box define an enclosure. An insulating body and an insulating cover are located within the enclosure and define an insulated cavity. A chamber having a plurality of chamber sides is configured to hold one or more payloads at the substantially uniform internal temperature. A temperature control material distribution structure is located within the insulated cavity for constraining motion of temperature control material units. The temperature control material distribution structure comprises at least one partitioned tray or trough. The at least one partitioned tray comprises a tray bottom; and a plurality of partition walls extending away from the tray bottom and defining a plurality of partition compartments.
Modular Thermal Beverage Container
The invention relates to a beverage container, and in particular a thermal beverage container having a modular thermal chilling mechanism that can be used to maintain the temperature of a beverage without the continual use of ice.
Cooling System for Storing and Cooling Products During Transport on a Refrigerated Transport Vehicle
A cooling system using carbon dioxide as a coolant comprises a cooling chamber for storing products to be cooled during transport and a cooling unit for cooling the atmosphere in the cooling chamber. The cooling chamber and the cooling unit are mounted on or integrated in a cooling vehicle like a truck, a railway wagon or a ship. The cooling unit comprises a carbon dioxide storage compartment and at least one cooling channel through which air is led from and to the cooling chamber. The carbon dioxide storage compartment and the cooling channel are separated from each other by a thermal well-conducting but gas-tight plate serving as a heat exchanger between the carbon dioxide in the carbon dioxide storage compartment and the air in the cooling channel.
COOLING ELEMENT, SHIPPING BOX WITH A COOLING ELEMENT, METHOD FOR TEMPERATURE STABILISATION, AND USE OF A COOLING ELEMENT
A cooling element includes a container, the container defining an internal volume within one or more walls of the container. The volume is air-tight sealed, and the container is configured for containing dry ice (solid carbon dioxide), releasing carbon dioxide gas from the volume and blocking ingress of ambient gas into the volume. Additionally, a shipping box includes a thermally insulated volume therein, and is configured for holding a receptacle and one or more cooling elements, wherein the one or more cooling elements are arranged to enclose the receptacle. Further, a method is disclosed for thermal stabilisation of such a receptacle by using the cooling element or shipping box. The receptacle is arranged for holding a product such as a (bio)pharmaceutical substance and/or advanced therapy medicinal product(s).
Transport device
Provided is a transport device which can perform easily thermal storage temperature controlling treatment of the thermal storage material even at a cell transport destination. The transport device of the present invention includes: a thermally insulated container that has a cylindrical shape and a bottom, a thermal storage material disposed along the inner circumferential surface of the thermally insulated container, and a temperature control unit that is detachably fitted on the thermally insulated container and is for performing thermal storage temperature controlling treatment on the thermal storage material, wherein the temperature controlling unit comprises a heat transferring body for performing the thermal storage temperature control processing on the thermal storage material when the unit is fitted on the thermally insulated container, and a storage space formed inside the heat-transferring body for storing a stored object so that the object can be freely put in and taken out.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING A TRANSPORT CONTAINER SYSTEM, AND A TRANSPORT CONTAINER SYSTEM
The invention relates to a process for providing a transport container system with a container internal temperature within a target range. The transport container system has a container having a receiving space wherein the temperature in the receiving space of the container is the container internal temperature and at least two PCM elements which can be removed from the container and inserted into the container. All PCM elements have the same phase change material. At least one first PCM element is tempered outside the container in such a way that the phase change material of this first PCM element is in a completely solid state. At least one second PCM element is tempered outside the container in such a way that the phase change material of this second PCM element is in a completely liquid state. The tempered PCM elements are arranged in the container. The tempering and the PCM elements are configured in such a way that after the PCM elements have been arranged in the container, the container internal temperature reaches a value within the target range.
The invention also relates to a suitable transport container system for transporting a temperature-sensitive object in a target range of a container's internal temperature.
Modified dry ice systems and methods for preserving perishable items within a single holding volume
This invention relates to a novel two-stage dry ice system for preserving perishable items during transport and methods thereof. The improved two-stage dry ice system includes dry ice and a phase change material specifically configured within a single and continuous holding volume with perishable items. Preservation of the perishable items for extended durations in comparison to other refrigeration techniques can be achieved as a result of the two-stage dry system having the ability to re-orient itself during transport.
