CALORIC HEAT PUMP SYSTEM
A caloric heat pump system includes a pump is operable to circulate a working fluid through a stage. The pump includes a motor. A cam is coupled to the motor such that the cam is rotatable by the motor. The cam has a non-circular outer profile surface. Each piston of a pair of pistons has a cam follower positioned on the non-circular outer profile surface of the cam.
LINEARLY-ACTUATED MAGNETOCALORIC HEAT PUMP
A heat pump includes a magnet assembly which creates a magnetic field, and a regenerator housing which includes a body defining a plurality of chambers, each of the plurality of chambers extending along a transverse direction orthogonal to the vertical direction. The heat pump further includes a plurality of stages, each of the plurality of stages including a magnetocaloric material disposed within one of the plurality of chambers and extending along the transverse direction between a first end and a second end.

CALORIC HEAT PUMP SYSTEM
A caloric heat pump system includes a motor and a pair of non-circular gears meshed with each other. A first one of the pair of non-circular gears is coupled to a regenerator housing, and a second one of the pair of non-circular gears is coupled to the motor. The regenerator housing is rotatable with the motor through the pair of non-circular gears.
REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE WITH A FLUID RESERVOIR
A refrigeration appliance, in particular a household refrigeration appliance, includes a heat-insulating wall which delimits a cooled storage chamber, a reservoir embedded or let in the wall and a conduit for a heat transfer fluid. Part of the conduit forms a first heat exchanger which is disposed in thermal contact with the reservoir. A shut-off element can be switched between a position allowing circulation of the heat transfer fluid and a position blocking circulation.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator includes a main body including a freezing-compartment inner case forming a freezing compartment and a refrigerating-compartment inner case forming a refrigerating compartment, and a heat transfer module including a thermosiphon part having a portion provided in the freezing-compartment inner case and another portion provided in the refrigerating-compartment inner case and having a closed loop in which working fluid for transferring heat flows and a heating member coupled to one side of the thermosiphon part to heat the working fluid. Other configurations are possible.
Method for controlling refrigerator
A method for controlling a refrigerator includes a step in which it is determined whether a period of defrosting (POD) for defrosting a freezing compartment and a deep-freezing compartment has elapsed; a step in which, when it is determined that the period of defrosting has elapsed, a deep cooling operation for cooling at least one from among the temperature of the deep-freezing compartment and the temperature of the freezing compartment to be lower than a control temperature is performed; and a step in which, when the deep cooling operation finishes, a defrosting operation for defrosting the freezing compartment and the deep-freezing compartment is performed.
HIGH EFFICIENCY REFRIGERATOR
A thermal storage container is coupled to a pump for circulating cooled liquid from the thermal storage container in at least one of two circuits. One circuit includes a heat exchanger coupled to the fresh food evaporator for assisting in cooling the fresh food section of the refrigerator or for chilling the liquid. Another circuit includes a sub-cooler between the condenser and the evaporator for cooling the output from the condenser before entering the evaporator, herby increasing the efficiency of the system. A three-way valve is coupled from the output pump to couple the stored coolant selectively to one or the other or both of the coolant circuits.
