REFRIGERATED COMPARTMENT AIR DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY
A refrigeration appliance includes a freezer compartment liner that forms a freezer compartment and includes a plurality of walls exposed to an interior of the freezer compartment. The plurality of walls includes first and second sidewalls, a top wall, a bottom wall, and a back wall. Each of the first and second sidewalls includes an air-deflection surface. A refrigeration compartment liner forms a refrigeration compartment. A door is configured to provide access to the freezer compartment. A mullion is disposed between the refrigeration compartment liner and the freezer compartment liner. The mullion includes a forward portion that extends toward the freezer compartment. A fan is configured to direct cooled air along at least one of the plurality of walls of the freezer compartment liner. The fan is configured to direct air toward the air deflection surface.
AIR GUIDING STRIP FOR REFRIGERATORS
A refrigerator has an open front, an air curtain system having at least one upper air egress having an outer edge and at least one lower air-recovery ingress. The air curtain system is adapted to produce a substantially vertical air curtain over at least part of the open front of the refrigerator. The refrigerator has a plurality of shelves between the egress and the ingress a plurality of shelves between the egress and the ingress including a first shelf that has an aerofoil positioned in front of it, the first shelf being located in the upper half of the open front of refrigerator. The refrigerator also includes a second shelf that does not have an aerofoil positioned in front of it, the second shelf being located below the first shelf.
MERCHANDISER
A refrigerated merchandiser including a case having a first case section. The first and second case sections define first and second product display areas. The first case section further defines an air passageway and the second case section includes a glass panel. The air passageway supports a fan and is in fluid communication with a first airflow inlet and a second airflow outlet. An airflow flows through the first airflow outlet toward the evaporator and a second airflow outlet in communication with the first airflow inlet via an evaporator bypass channel. A first airflow portion flows through the first airflow outlet and is cooled by the evaporator, and a second airflow portion flows through the second airflow outlet to bypass the evaporator and is uncooled by the evaporator. The second airflow outlet directs the second airflow portion over an exterior of the glass panel of the second case section.
DISPLAY REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS
A display refrigerator or freezer comprises a refrigerated storage space. Air in the refrigerated storage space is separated from air exterior to the display refrigerator or freezer by an air curtain established by one or more fans which blow air towards one or more air outlets via a cooling heat exchanger and which recover air in the air curtain via one or more air inlets for recirculation to the one or more air outlets. The refrigerated storage space has a base shelf. One or more air inlet ducts are arranged between the one or more air inlets and the one or more fans such that the air recovered via the one or more air inlets is directed by the one or more air inlet ducts towards the one or more fans. The one or more air inlet ducts, in combination with at least a portion of the base shelf, define at least a portion of a cavity beneath the base shelf, the cavity being sealed from the air recovered via the one or more air inlet.
AIR CURTAIN GUIDES FOR REFRIGERATORS
An air curtain guide mounting kit for attaching an air curtain guide to an open-display refrigerator, the kit comprising: an arm adapted to be mounted to the refrigerator; and a bracket comprising an engagement section adapted to be connected to an air curtain guide, and a mounting section connected to the engagement section and adapted to form a hinged connection with the arm.
Refrigerators
A refrigerator has an open front and an air curtain system having at least one upper air egress with an outer edge and at least one lower air-recovery ingress. The air curtain system is adapted to produce a substantially vertical air curtain over at least part of the open front of the refrigerator. The refrigerator comprises at least one shelf between the egress and the ingress, the shelf having a front edge, and at least one elongate air-guiding strip extending across at least part of the open front of the fridge. The strip is located substantially in the plane of the shelf and spaced from the front edge of the shelf. The strip is located substantially vertically beneath the outer edge of the upper air egress.
AIR CURTAIN SYSTEM FOR OPEN DISPLAY REFRIGERATORS
The present invention provides an open display refrigerator comprising: a refrigerated storage space, air in the refrigerated storage space being separated from air exterior to the open display refrigerator by an air curtain established by a fan which blows air towards an air outlet, air in the air curtain being recovered by an air inlet which recirculates the air from the air curtain into an air duct coupled to the air outlet, and an air guide coupled to the air outlet or air duct and extending from the air outlet such that it bypasses a portion of a void between the uppermost shelf and the air outlet, whereby the air curtain is established between an extremity of the portion of the void proximal to the air inlet and the air inlet.
Refrigerated compartment air distribution assembly
A freezer compartment for a refrigeration appliance includes a liner that has first and second sidewalls, a top wall, a bottom wall, and a back wall. At least one of the first and second sidewalls includes a first air-deflection surface. A door is configured to provide access to and seal the freezer compartment. A seal is positioned around a periphery of the door. A fan is operably coupled with an evaporator and is positioned within the freezer compartment at the back wall of the liner. A mullion is attached to the liner and includes a forward portion. The forward portion includes a second air-deflection surface.
