An outer wrapper that defines a top wall, a bottom wall, a rear wall, and first and second side walls and includes an inner liner. A trim breaker seals the outer wrapper to the inner liner to define an insulation space. A single vacuum port is disposed on each of the top wall, the bottom wall, and the first and second side walls. A plurality of vacuum ports is disposed on the rear wall. An insulative material is disposed between the outer wrapper and the inner liner. A filter media is disposed proximate each vacuum port such that air can be drawn from the insulation space past the filter media and through each vacuum port.

A vacuum insulator having a structure that improves thermal insulation performance, a method of manufacturing the vacuum insulator, and a refrigerator including the vacuum insulator are provided. The refrigerator includes an outer case configured to form an external appearance, an inner case provided inside the outer case and forming a storage compartment and a vacuum insulator provided between the outer case and the inner case. The vacuum insulator includes a core material formed of glass fibers having a diameter larger than or equal to 5 μm and smaller than or equal 8 μm, an adsorbent configured to adsorb a heat transfer medium, and an envelope configured to accommodate the core material and the adsorbent.

Outer and inner cover materials are joined together at faces facing the vacuum heat insulating lid among faces constituting the wall portion of the vacuum heat insulating container. A joined part of the materials is located inside the body protection case without being exposed to the outer surface of the body protection case.

A refrigerator appliance includes a rear wall, side walls, a bottom wall, and partitions. The side walls are secured to and extend from the rear wall toward a front side of the refrigerator. The rear wall and the bottom wall define a machine compartment. An exterior surface of the rear wall defines an inlet to and an outlet from the machine compartment. A first partition extends outward from the exterior surface and is disposed between the inlet and the outlet. A second partition extends from a bottom of the first partition. The partitions are configured to segregate airflows between the inlet and outlet.

The food dispenser includes: a food withdrawal portion, and a food storage portion being detachable from the food withdrawal portion and provided above the food withdrawal portion, and the food storage portion includes an opening and closing device including: a resting body forming an outlet through which food stored in the food storage portion moves, the resting body rested on the food withdrawal portion; a push member coupled with the resting body and being movable in a front-rear direction; a shutter moving in an opposite direction of a moving direction of the push member by interworking with the push member to open and close the outlet; and a locker to lock the shutter.
