IMPROVED SHELF ASSEMBLY AND REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE HAVING THE SAME

The present invention relates to a shelf assembly for use in a refrigeration appliance comprising a compartment for refrigerating food. The shelf assembly comprises a releasable shelf for supporting the food. The shelf assembly of the present invention comprises at least one retainer which is detachably mountable to either one of the side walls of the compartment, at least one counterpart retainer which is adjustably mountable at different heights onto either one of the lateral sides of the shelf. The counterpart retainer slidably engages with the corresponding retainer so as to reciprocate through a predetermined distance in the direction which is perpendicular to the side walls of the compartment.

Spill containing refrigerator shelf assembly

The specification discloses a method for containing spills on shelving and the like, and the resulting support members made in accordance with the method, by providing the generally flat top surface of a support with a hydrophobic surface which is arranged in a spill containment pattern and which is generally in the plane of the top surface of the support. The majority of the top surface of the support consists of one or more spill containment areas which are of a non-hydrophobic nature and which are bounded by the hydrophobic surfaces, such that spills on the shelving collect in the non-hydrophobic spill containment area or areas and are prevented from spreading by the hydrophobic surfaces.

SHELF ASSEMBLY FOR AN APPLIANCE

A shelf assembly for an appliance includes a shelf support operably coupled with a cabinet liner. First and second supports are positioned below the shelf support. The first and second supports are positioned on opposing sidewalls of the cabinet liner. A rear shelf portion is slidably supported on the shelf support between rearward and forward positions. A front shelf portion is positioned adjacent to the rear shelf portion and is movable between a raised position and a lowered position. A plurality of rotatable arms are configured to support the front shelf portion. Each rotatable arm of the plurality of rotatable arms is operably coupled with one of the first and second supports at a first end and is further operably coupled with the front shelf portion at a second end. A connecting arm interconnects the rear shelf portion and the front shelf portion.

SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR AN APPLIANCE

A support assembly includes a support surface configured to selectively transition between a stowed position, a deployed position, and an intermediate position defined between the stowed position and the deployed position. A retention feature is operably coupled to the support surface and is configured to transition the support surface between the stowed position and the deployed position. The retention feature includes a projection about which the support surface pivots to define a pivot axis. A bracket is coupled to the support surface and is configured to distribute a load along the support assembly in the intermediate position and the deployed position.

An accessory rack includes a pair of support arms. Each support arm includes a rail that is configured to slidably receive and retain a retention feature formed on an accessory item. Each rail is spaced apart based on a predetermined width that corresponds to the distance between retention features disposed on the sides of one or more, interchangeable accessory items. The accessory rack may be slidably coupled to an existing refrigerator shelf assembly. A refrigerator shelf assembly may include an integrated accessory rack.

Provided is a refrigerator including: a main body; a storage compartment provided in the main body, the storage compartment configured to have a shelf arranged therein; and shelf fixing devices provided at opposite sidewalls inside the storage compartment to fix the shelf, wherein the shelf fixing device includes: a shelf support portion configured to support a lower side of the shelf, and move downward as a load the shelf increases; a shelf fixing portion configured to fix the shelf at an upper side of the shelf, and move downward in linkage with the shelf support portion; and a connecting portion configured to connect the shelf support portion to the shelf fixing portion, and adjust a distance between the shelf support portion and the shelf fixing portion according to the load on the shelf such that a fixing force on the shelf is changed.

Support assembly for appliance

A vacuum insulated appliance includes an outer wrapper and an inner liner. A ladder rack is coupled to the inner liner. The ladder rack includes first and second sidewalls coupled together by a connecting wall that defines a plurality of apertures. An adapter member includes a hook configured to extend through an aperture of the plurality of apertures when coupled to the ladder rack. The adapter member is coupled with a locking member that engages inner surface of first and second sidewalls of the ladder rack. A cantilever support is coupled to the adapter member and extends outward from the ladder rack. A rail assembly is coupled to an upper surface of the cantilever support. A spacer is coupled to an end of the cantilever support and abuts an inner liner surface. A storage feature is coupled to the rail assembly and is operable between stowed and deployed positions.

Moveable goods supporting arrangement for a storage unit and a method of using such arrangement. A guide mechanism comprises a first part and a second, extendable part and first connecting means for rotational connection of the linear guide mechanism to the storage unit. Second connecting means rotationally connect first ends of first and second divider parts, third connecting means rotationally connect a second end of the first divider part to the second, extendable part of the of the guide mechanism, and fourth connecting means rotationally connect a second end of the second divider part to the first part of the guide mechanism. Movement extending the guide mechanism moves the second ends of the first and second divider parts away from each other to enable access to a second storage area. Rotation of the guide mechanism relative to the storage unit enables access to a third storage area.

Entrance refrigerator

A tray is mounted inside a storage compartment of an entrance refrigerator. A bottom portion of the tray is spaced apart from a bottom portion of the storage compartment, and gaps are provided between the sides of the tray and the sides of the storage compartment. With this configuration, it is possible to minimize a blockage of a cold air flow path by goods stored on the tray in the storage compartment.
