The air curtain system is adapted to produce a substantially vertical air curtain over at least part of the open front of the refrigerator. The refrigerator comprises at least one shelf between the egress and the ingress, the shelf having a front edge, and at least one elongate air-guiding strip extending across at least part of the open front of the fridge. The strip is located substantially in the plane of the shelf and spaced from the front edge of the shelf. The strip is located substantially vertically beneath the outer edge of the upper air egress.

ICE-MAKING COMPARTMENT FOR AN APPLIANCE

An appliance ice-making compartment includes a housing which defines an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture. A first ice tray is disposed at a first height within the housing. A second ice tray is disposed at a second height within the housing where the first height is closer to a top of the housing compared to the second height. The second ice tray is closer to the inlet aperture compared to the first ice tray. An inlet duct is in fluid communication with the inlet aperture and configured to direct air toward the first ice tray and the second ice tray.

A refrigerator may include an air duct cover plate, a closed air cavity, an evaporator, and an air guiding rib. The air duct cover plate and a liner of the refrigerator enclose the closed air cavity. The evaporator is disposed on an outer surface of the liner. The air guiding rib is disposed in the closed air cavity. The air guiding rib divides the closed air cavity into an air intake region, a first supply region, and a second supply region that are sequentially in fluid communication. The first supply region is located above the air intake region and includes an upper air outlet. The second supply region is located below the first supply region and is separated from the air intake region by the air guiding rib. A lower air outlet is disposed in the second supply region.

In use, the apparatus allows active dissemination of cold air in a confined space without the undesired consequence of wind shear commonly caused by forced movement of cold air.

Refrigerated compartment air distribution assembly

A freezer compartment for a refrigeration appliance includes a liner that has first and second sidewalls, a top wall, a bottom wall, and a back wall. At least one of the first and second sidewalls includes a first air-deflection surface. A door is configured to provide access to and seal the freezer compartment. A seal is positioned around a periphery of the door. A fan is operably coupled with an evaporator and is positioned within the freezer compartment at the back wall of the liner. A mullion is attached to the liner and includes a forward portion. The forward portion includes a second air-deflection surface. The fan is configured to direct air toward the first and second sidewalls and the top wall of the freezer compartment and subsequently toward the first and second air-deflection surfaces.

A baffle blank for a baffle assembly and a method for deploying the baffle assembly in a storage container for manipulating air flow in the container is provided. The baffle blank is made of stiff planar sheet material and has fold lines, cut lines and sulcations arranged to form a base, a deflector extending from the base along a hinge line, and an angle selector formed as cut-out in the baffle blank. The baffle blank is operable between a collapsed condition in which the base, deflector and angle selector lie in a substantially planar configuration, into a deployed baffle assembly in which the deflector is secured at a selected angle relative to the base by the angle selector with the angle selector extending between the base and deflector.
