Upright appliance drain jumper

A drain assembly for a refrigeration appliance in communication with an appliance drain. The drain collects condensate from an evaporator behind the rear wall of the cabinet and transfers the condensate to the drain assembly in the machine compartment of the refrigeration appliance. The drain assembly then transfers the condensate to an extension tube easily accessible to an operator. The drain assembly includes an inlet, a main body, and an outlet. The inlet is secured to the appliance drain and the outlet is secured to the extension tube. The main body also comprises a downward slope in between the inlet and the outlet. In one example, a vacuum relief system can equalize a pressure differential between an interior of the main body and an exterior environment.

Drainage assembly

An insulated structure includes a wrapper that defines a first aperture. A liner defines a second aperture and is coupled to the wrapper. A negative pressure is maintained between the wrapper and the liner. A drainage assembly extends between the liner and the wrapper and is disposed within the first aperture and the second aperture. The drainage assembly includes a flexible body that has a plurality of flexures, first and second surfaces, and an opening that is defined between the first and second surfaces. The flexible body has at least one notch that is defined on the first surface that extends from a portion of the opening. A drainage tube extends through the opening that is defined by the flexible body and is operably coupled to the flexible body. The drainage tube includes at least one flange disposed within the at least one notch of the flexible body.

Refrigerator Moisture Removal System

This invention is embodied in a system for removing moisture from the air inside a refrigerated space. The preferred embodiment is configured to work on a typical refrigerator that employs a typical refrigerant system with a compressor and a condenser. The preferred embodiment works by fitting a water jacket to the exterior surface of the refrigerant line. The water jacket is connected by flexible tube to a cold plate inside the refrigerator. Preferably a pump circulates fluid between the water jacket and the cold plate. As a result, the cold plate gets colder than the air inside the refrigerator and induces condensation on the cold plate. The condensation can be directed to flow by gravity down to the refrigerator's drip pan.
