Disclosed are refrigeration monitoring and regulation systems and techniques. Air temperature sensors, probe temperature sensors, simulated refrigerated items and relay controllers are described to monitor and control a refrigeration unit while conserving energy and prolonging equipment life compared to conventional refrigeration units.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING VALVE FAILURE OF REFRIGERATOR
20200011596 · 2020-01-09 ·

An apparatus is for diagnosing a valve failure of a refrigerator by detecting whether or not a first valve configured to control flow of a refrigerant circulating in a first refrigeration compartment and a second valve configured to control flow of a refrigerant circulating in a second refrigeration compartment are abnormal. The apparatus includes a first temperature sensor measuring a temperature in the first refrigeration compartment, a second temperature sensor measuring a temperature in the second refrigeration compartment, and a controller configured to determine whether or not the first valve and the second valve are abnormal by comparing changes in temperatures measured by the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor in a state where the first valve or the second valve is opened. The apparatus further includes a display configured to display the determination result indicating whether or not the first valve and the second valve are abnormal.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator includes a cooling/heating chamber capable of cooling and heating foods. The cooling/heating chamber is divided into a heating zone that is a space where foods to be heated are placed, and a non-heating zone that is a space continuous with the heating zone where foods not to be heated are placed. The refrigerator further includes an oscillation electrode and a counter electrode that are arranged so as to face each other with the heating zone in between, and an oscillating unit that applies an AC voltage to between the oscillation electrode and the counter electrode.

Refrigerator and control method thereof

A refrigerator may include a storage part including a compressor and an evaporator and configured to store a food item at a low temperature using air cooled by the evaporator. The refrigerator may also include an ice making compartment configured to make or store ice using air cooled by the evaporator, and a fan for making ice allowing air cooled by the evaporator to flow to the ice making compartment. Additionally, a rotation speed of the fan for making ice changes while the fan for making ice continues to operate during operation of the compressor.

REFRIGERATOR APPLIANCE WITH IMAGE-ASSISTED ODOR CONTROL

A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet defining a food storage chamber with a drawer slidably mounted within the food storage chamber therein and a camera assembly positioned and configured with at least a portion of the food storage chamber within a field of view of the camera assembly. A method of operating the refrigerator appliance includes obtaining an image using the camera assembly. The method also includes analyzing the image and identifying, based on the analysis of the image, a potential odor source in the food storage chamber. The method further includes initiating an enhanced odor control mode in response to the identified potential odor source.

REFRIGERATED APPLIANCE WITH DUCTED AIR FLOW

A refrigerated appliance can include a refrigeration system; a first refrigerated portion; a second refrigerated portion positioned below the first refrigerated portion and horizontally adjacent to an evaporating unit of the refrigeration system, the evaporating unit configured to supply air to each of the first refrigerated portion and the second refrigerated portion; a first sensor configured to measure a temperature of air circulated within the first refrigerated portion; a second sensor configured to measure a temperature of air received within the second refrigerated portion; and at least one controller configured to control, at least in part, the temperature of the air received within the first refrigerated portion within a first predetermined temperature range and the temperature of the air received within the second refrigerated portion within a second predetermined temperature range.

REFRIGERATED APPLIANCE WITH AUTOMATICALLY ADJUSTABLE SETPOINT

A method of using a refrigerated appliance can include regulating a temperature of a first insulated enclosure of a first refrigerated portion of the appliance within a first predetermined temperature range, the appliance including the first refrigerated portion and a second refrigerated portion positioned below the first refrigerated portion; moving a closure device of the first refrigerated portion from an open position to a closed position, the closure device configured to selectively cover and limit leakage of air from an ambient environment to and from a second insulated enclosure of the second refrigerated portion; and adjusting a predetermined temperature range of the first insulated enclosure by a predetermined offset value based on a sensor signaling that the closure device is in the closed position.

REFRIGERATOR

A refrigerator comprising a refrigerator body provided with a refrigerating compartment, an ice maker, an ice-making air duct, a first fan assembly disposed in the ice-making air duct and an ice maker evaporator is disclosed. The ice-making air duct comprises an air inlet duct and an air return duct, which are both disposed in a foaming layer of the refrigerating compartment, and one ends thereof close to the ice maker extend into a foaming layer on a door body of the ice maker. The first fan assembly is detachably disposed in the air return duct, and may be integrally disassembled from and installed in the air return duct. The ice maker evaporator is disposed between the air inlet duct and the air return duct and at the side far away from the ice maker.

According to the present disclosure, after a load operation is performed by satisfying a start condition of the load operation, the load operation is terminated when a compartment temperature of a storage compartment satisfies a termination condition when a door is opened or when a temperature change in the storage compartment satisfies the termination condition. Accordingly, excessive power consumption during the load operation may be prevented, and thus power consumption may be improved.
