DUAL COLUMN NITROGEN PRODUCING AIR SEPARATION UNIT WITH SPLIT KETTLE REBOIL AND INTEGRATED CONDENSER-REBOILER
Enhancements to a dual column, nitrogen producing cryogenic air separation unit are provided. Such enhancements include an improved air separation cycle that uses multiple condenser-reboilers and recycles a portion of the vapor from one or more of the condenser-reboilers to the incoming feed stream and or the compressed purified air streams to yield improvements in such dual column, nitrogen producing cryogenic air separation units. The multiple condenser-reboilers preferably include an integrated condenser-reboiler arrangement comprising a heat exchanger having a set of nitrogen condensing passages, a first set and second set of boiling passages, and a phase separator.
GAS STORAGE APPARATUS AND METHOD
The present invention relates to a gas storage apparatus and method, and more specifically to liquid air energy storage and its use to facilitate both Demand Side Reduction (DSR) and the use of reduced-cost electricity by industrial compressed-air users. A related electricity generating apparatus and method is also disclosed. The apparatus and method use a first sensible heat coolth store and second latent heat coolth store to first reduce the gas in temperature and then to change it into a liquid phase. Coolth top up devices are also disclosed.
Nitrogen production method and nitrogen production apparatus
A portion of feed air is expanded and cooled in front of a main heat exchanger, and is used as cold for precooling the remaining unexpanded feed air inside the main heat exchanger. A portion of the feed air precooled inside the main heat exchanger is removed to outside the main heat exchanger, expanded and cooled, and used as cold to cool the remaining unexpanded precooled feed air inside the main heat exchanger.
Completely green system for cooling refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners that has no HCFCs or CFCs
A system for cooling residential or commercial refrigerators, freezers, ULT freezers, and air conditioners is disclosed using liquified gas as the refrigerant. The system has no HCFCs or CFCs. The system is completely non-polluting and returns the refrigerant air to the environment in a cleaner state than the input air. The system is totally green, obtaining all energy from an array of solar panels and may be operated independently and remotely from all other energy sources. The refrigerant may be liquid air or liquid nitrogen. The system may also operate on-the-grid for power.

CRYOGENIC LIQUID ENERGY STORAGE
Apparatus, systems, and methods use cryogenic liquids such as, for example, liquefied natural gas and liquefied air or liquefied air components to store thermal energy. The cryogenic liquids may be produced using electrically powered liquefaction methods, for example, using excess electric power during periods of over-generation on the electric grid.
SYSTEM HAVING A LIQUID AIR ENERGY STORAGE AND POWER PLANT APPARATUS
The invention relates to a system (10) having a liquid air energy storage and power plant apparatus (12), having a charging component (16) comprising a compressor (26) for compressing supplied air and comprising a liquefier (40) which adjoins said compressor and which serves for liquefying the air. According to the invention, an apparatus (14) for permanent water electrolysis having at least one first heat exchanger (94, 96) is provided, by means of which the heat energy generated during the electrolysis is absorbed by a fluid flowing through the first heat exchanger (94, 96).
CRYOGENIC COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT
In a cryogenic combined cycle power plant electric power drives a cryogenic refrigerator to store energy by cooling air to a liquid state for storage within tanks, followed by subsequent release of the stored energy by first pressurizing the liquid air, then regasifying the liquid air and raising the temperature of the regasified air at least in part with heat exhausted from a combustion turbine, and then expanding the heated regasified air through a hot gas expander to generate power. The expanded regasified air exhausted from the expander may be used to cool and make denser the inlet air to the combustion turbine. The combustion turbine exhaust gases may be used to drive an organic Rankine bottoming cycle. An alternative source of heat such as thermal storage, for example, may be used in place of or in addition to the combustion turbine.
Exhaust gas heat recovery from cryo-compression engines with cogeneration of cryo-working fluid
The present invention provides an energy recovery, phase change storage and prime mover system with co-generation and cryogenic compression of the working fluid for distributed electric generation and motor vehicle application.
