A natural gas processing system is configured to process a two-phase flow in a natural gas transportation system. The natural gas processing system has an off-gas compression package with a compressor suction drum, joined to a stabilizer and to a first stage compressor. A first stage off-gas after cooler is joined to the compressor suction drum and a second stage off-gas suction drum. The second stage off-gas suction drum is operatively coupled to a two-phase separator. A second stage compressor is joined to the second stage off-gas suction drum and a second stage off-gas after cooler. The second stage off-gas after cooler is operatively coupled to an acid gas removal system. The off-gas compression package separates the liquid phase from an off-gas phase.

Natural gas liquids recovery process

Methods and systems for operating and NGL recovery process are provided. In an exemplary method, an absorber column upstream of a fractionator column is operated at a higher pressure than a pressure in the fractionator column. An NGL (C.sub.3 plus) stream is taken from the bottom of a fractionator column and then ethylene/ethane stream is taken from the top of the fractionator column. A differential pressure between the absorber column and the fraction are column is controlled based, at least in part, on a flow rate of the fractionator feed stream from the absorber column to the fractionator column.

This specification relates to operating industrial facilities, for example, crude oil refining facilities or other industrial facilities that include operating plants that process natural gas or recover natural gas liquids.

SOLVENT INJECTION AND RECOVERY IN A LNG PLANT

Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for processing liquefied natural gas (LNG). In one implementation, a solvent is injected into a feed of natural gas at a solvent injection point. A mixed feed is produced from a dispersal of the solvent into the feed of natural gas. The mixed feed contains heavy components. A chilled feed is produced by chilling the mixed feed. The chilled feed includes a vapor and a condensed liquid. The condensed liquid contains a fouling portion of the heavy components condensed by the solvent during chilling. The liquid containing the fouling portion of the heavy components is separated from the vapor. The vapor is directed into a feed chiller heat exchanger following separation of the liquid containing the fouling portion of the heavy components from the vapor, such that the vapor being directed into feed chiller heat exchanger is free of freezing components.

AI-ENABLED GAS PLANT MONITORING AND OPTIMIZATION THROUGH COMPUTER VISION

A method to optimize a gas processing plant with control parameters. The method includes acquiring a plurality of images, using a camera, of an incoming contaminated fluid and processing, by a computer processor, the plurality of images by a machine-learned model to produce a contamination estimate. The method further includes adjusting the control parameters of the gas processing plant, forming adjusted control parameters based on, at least in part, the contamination estimate. The method further includes receiving a plurality of data signals from a plurality of sensors configured to monitor sub-processes of the gas processing plant and validating the adjusted control parameters with the received data signals by verifying that the adjusted control parameters optimize, or at least improve the performance of, the gas processing plant.

The method includes cooling and liquefying a feed gas stream, separating a stream obtained from the feed gas stream, and recovering a treated gas stream and a natural gas liquid stream. The method further includes compressing the treated gas stream in order to form a compressed treated gas stream, and fractionating the natural gas liquid stream into a plurality of hydrocarbon fractions (28, 30, 32, 33). The method additionally includes withdrawing from the compressed treated gas stream, of a recycle stream, and reintroducing the recycle stream without cooling into the feed gas stream, into the cooled feed gas stream, or into a stream obtained from the cooled feed gas stream upstream of an expander.

A stackable modular element comprises a parallelepipedal caisson, the caisson comprising at least one layer of thermal insulation of thickness less than one-third of the width of the caisson, the layer of insulation covering at least the lateral and frontal faces of the caisson and surrounding at least one chamber having a parallelepipedal volume within the caisson, the chamber containing at least one body of material that permits the exchange of mass and/or of heat, the body being parallelepipedal in shape and filling at least part of the chamber, the chamber having an opening on the upper face and/or an opening on the lower face to allow fluid to be transferred to the body from outside the element and/or from the body to outside the element.

Method to detect tube leakage in shell and tube thermosiphon reboilers

A method to continuously monitor for tube leakage in a shell and tube thermosiphon reboiler for heating feedstock in a fractionating column includes: determining the column is in service by continuously monitoring an input flow of the feedstock into the column; determining the reboiler is inactive by continuously monitoring an output valve of tube-side heating fluid from the reboiler; determining the reboiler is losing the heating fluid by continuously monitoring an output flow of the heating fluid from the reboiler; determining the reboiler is heat exchanging by continuously monitoring a temperature difference between input and output flows of shell-side bottoms fluid with the column; and determining the tube leakage in the reboiler is taking place when the column is determined to be in service, the reboiler is determined to be inactive, the reboiler is determined to be losing the heating fluid, and the reboiler is determined to be heat exchanging.

PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR HEAVY HYDROCARBON REMOVAL FROM LEAN NATURAL GAS BEFORE LIQUEFACTION

A process is described herein for removing high freeze point hydrocarbons, including benzene compounds, from a mixed feed gas stream. The process involves cooling process streams in one or more heat exchangers and separating condensed compounds in multiple separators to form a methane-rich product gas stream. Select solvent streams from a fractionation train and/or separate solvent streams are employed to lower the freeze point of one or more streams that contain high freeze point hydrocarbons. A corresponding system also is disclosed.
