Carbon Dioxide Recycle Stream Processing with Ethylene Glycol Dehydrating in an Enhanced Oil Recovery Process
A set of process equipment for use in an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) process comprises first piping, a dehydrator, second piping, and a natural gas liquids recovery column. The first piping is configured to receive a wet carbon dioxide recycle stream from a recovery well. The dehydrator is configured to receive the wet carbon dioxide stream from the first piping and configured to dehydrate the wet carbon dioxide recycle stream using ethylene glycol to produce a dry carbon dioxide recycle stream. The second piping is configured to receive the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream from the dehydrator. The natural gas liquids recovery column is configured to receive the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream from the second piping and configured to separate the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream into a carbon dioxide reinjection stream and a natural gas liquids stream.
GAS STREAM COMPONENT REMOVAL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for removing selected components from a gas stream has a heat exchanger including a first cooling passage configured to receive a feed gas stream and to provide a cooled feed gas stream. An expander receives at least a portion of the cooled feed gas stream. A separation device receives an expanded fluid stream from the expander and separates the expanded fluid stream into a liquid stream containing selected components and a purified vapor stream having a purified vapor temperature. A compressor receives the purified vapor stream at approximately the purified vapor temperature and produces a compressed vapor stream that is returned to the heat exchanger.
SYNERGIES OF A NATURAL GAS LIQUEFACTION PROCESS IN A SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION PROCESS
A natural gas liquefaction process combined with a synthesis gas production process. At least one part of the heat source required in the synthesis gas production process is provided by at least a portion of the regeneration stream utilized to pretreat the natural gas to be liquefied.
OPERATION OF NATURAL GAS LIQUIDS STABILIZER COLUMN
A method for improved operation of a natural gas liquids stabilizer column, particularly a small-scale, is provided. The method can include the steps of: introducing a first feed stream comprising heavy hydrocarbons and natural gas to a stabilizer column to produce a top gas and a bottoms liquid, wherein the top gas has a higher concentration of natural gas as compared to the first feed stream, and the bottoms liquid has a higher concentration of heavy hydrocarbons as compared to the first feed stream; introducing a second feed stream into the stabilizer column, wherein the second feed stream has a higher concentration of natural gas as compared to the first feed stream, wherein the second feed stream is at a warmer temperature than the first feed stream when introduced into the stabilizer column, wherein the second feed stream is a gaseous stream; withdrawing the top gas from a top portion of the stabilizer column; withdrawing the bottoms liquid from a bottom portion of the stabilizer column; and sending at least a portion of the bottoms liquid to a liquid storage tank.
REMOVING HEAVY HYDROCARBONS TO PREVENT DEFROST SHUTDOWNS IN LNG PLANTS
Embodiments provide a method for preventing shutdowns in LNG facilities by removing heavy hydrocarbons from the inlet gas supply. According to an embodiment, there is provided an LNG facility treating pipeline quality natural gas that is contaminated with lubrication oil and low concentrations of heavy hydrocarbons. Due to contamination, the behavior of the pipeline quality natural gas is not properly predicted by thermodynamic modeling. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a drain system in a heat exchanger. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a treatment bed.
SINGLE MIXED REFRIGERANT LNG PRODUCTION PROCESS
A simple and efficient single mixed refrigerant process for cooling and liquefying a hydrocarbon feed stream, such as natural gas. The process employs a closed-loop single mixed refrigerant process for refrigeration duty. The refrigerant compressed to a high pressure using at least three stages of compression and two intercoolers (both producing liquid). A hydraulic turbine is used to expand the high pressure refrigerant before it flows into the main heat exchanger.
Offshore facility, floating crude oil production facility and method for generating liquefied natural gas
An offshore facility for producing a liquefied natural gas using an associated gas includes a crude oil production offshore facility having a crude oil processing device for refining crude oil collected from a subsea well to produce oil, and a gas reinjection device for compressing an associated gas separated in crude oil refining process to be reinjected into a reservoir, and a liquefied natural gas production offshore facility supplied with a feed gas including at least a part of the associated gas from the crude oil production offshore facility, and processing and liquefying the feed gas to generate a liquefied natural gas. The crude oil production offshore facility includes a feed gas supply unit for recovering a back-flow gas formed when an injection gas compressed by the gas reinjection device flows backward and generating the feed gas by using the back-flow gas.
Method and System for Efficient Nonsynchronous LNG Production using Large Scale Multi-Shaft Gas Turbines
A drive system for liquefied natural gas (LNG) refrigeration compressors in a LNG liquefaction plant. Each of three refrigeration compression strings include refrigeration compressors and a multi-shaft gas turbine capable of non-synchronous operation. The multi-shaft gas turbine is operationally connected to the refrigeration compressors and is configured to drive the one or more refrigeration compressors. The multi-shaft gas turbine uses its inherent speed turndown range to start the one or more refrigeration compressors from rest, bring the one or more refrigeration compressors up to an operating rotational speed, and adjust compressor operating points to maximize efficiency of the one or more refrigeration compressors, without assistance from electrical motors with drive-through capability and variable frequency drives.
Alternative two column HRU design with rich reflux
The invention relates to a system, method and apparatus for removing heavies from natural gas. Natural gas and an external rich reflux gas feed are processed in a single column refluxed absorber. A bottoms stream is routed to a first heat exchanger and then to a stabilizer column where an overhead stream from the stabilizer column is routed through a condenser for partial separation into an overhead stream. A rich solvent may be introduced to the stabilizer column. The overhead stream is routed through a condenser for partial separation into a stabilizer reflux and a second overhead stream lights. The second overhead stream lights is routed to a heat exchanger and then routed to a partial condenser where the stream is separated into a heavies rich reflux stream, a distillate stream and heavies treated natural gas stream. The rich reflux is routed through a heat exchanger and the rich reflux is pumped to the single column refluxed absorber to be introduced into the single column refluxed absorber as the external rich reflux gas feed.
