Systems And Methods For Enhanced Recovery Of NGL Hydrocarbons
Systems and methods for the enhanced recovery of ethane and heavier hydrocarbons using an absorbing agent. Typical absorbing agents include one or more C3+ alkanes. The systems and methods separate components of a feed gas containing methane and heavier hydrocarbons, which maximizes ethane recovery, without requiring appreciable increases in capital and operating costs, and improves the safety margin with respect to the risk of CO.sub.2 freeze-out.
METHOD OF REMOVING CARBON DIOXIDE DURING LIQUID NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION FROM NATURAL GAS AT GAS PRESSURE LETDOWN STATIONS
A method is described for removing carbon dioxide during Liquid Natural Gas production from natural gas at gas pressure letdown stations. The above method removes carbon dioxide from a Liquid Natural Gas production stream by using hydrocarbon fractions taken from a gas for consumption stream as a carbon dioxide stripping adsorption agent for a stripping column used to remove carbon dioxide.
Cold Solvent Gas Treating System
A method of removing impurities from a natural gas stream. A selective solvent is provided that absorbs a first impurity at a first rate and a second impurity at a second rate that is slower than the first rate. The solvent is cooled to a temperature below 60° F. to provide a cooled solvent. The cooled solvent is contacted with the natural gas stream, thereby generating a rich solvent that includes the first impurity. The rich solvent is removed from the natural gas stream, wherein an amount of the first impurity remaining in the natural gas stream is below a sales gas requirement.
PROCESS FOR OPTIMIZING REMOVAL OF CONDENSABLE COMPONENTS FROM A FLUID
A method for removing condensable components from a fluid containing condensable components. The method involves optimizing the temperature of an initial feed stream including the condensable components through heat exchange and cooling to condense liquids there from. The liquids are removed to form a gas stream which is then compressed and after-cooled to form a high pressure stream. A portion of the high pressure stream is expanded to form a cooled low pressure stream which is mixed with the initial feed stream to augment cooling and condensation of condensable components in the initial feed stream.
Treatment Of Nitrogen-Rich Natural Gas Streams
Helium can be recovered from nitrogen-rich natural gas at high pressure with low helium loss by cryogenic distillation of the natural gas after pre-treatment of the gas to remove incompatible impurities and then recovery of natural gas liquid (NGL) from the pre-treated gas by distillation. Overall power consumption may be reduced, particularly if the feed to the helium recovery column system is at least substantially condensed by indirect heat exchange against a first portion of nitrogen-enriched bottoms liquid at first pressure, and a second portion of nitrogen-enriched bottoms liquid at a second pressure that is different from the first pressure.
COOLING AND/OR LIQUEFYING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Disclosed is a low-temperature refrigeration device comprising a working circuit that forms a loop and contains a working fluid, the device further comprising a cooling exchanger for extracting heat from at least one member by exchanging heat with the working fluid, the working circuit forming a cycle comprising, connected in series: a compression mechanism, a cooling mechanism, an expansion mechanism and a heating mechanism, wherein the mechanism for cooling the working fluid and the heating mechanism comprise a common heat exchanger in which the working fluid flows in opposite directions in two separate transit portions of the circuit according to whether it is cooled or heated, the device being designed to ensure equal mass flow rates in the two transit portions in the common heat exchanger, the device also comprising a bypass for bypassing one of the two transit portions, said bypass comprising a bypass valve which, in the open state, changes the mass flow rate in one of the two transit portions.
Carbon Dioxide Recycle Stream Processing with Ethylene Glycol Dehydrating in an Enhanced Oil Recovery Process
A set of process equipment for use in an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) process comprises first piping, a dehydrator, second piping, and a natural gas liquids recovery column. The first piping is configured to receive a wet carbon dioxide recycle stream from a recovery well. The dehydrator is configured to receive the wet carbon dioxide stream from the first piping and configured to dehydrate the wet carbon dioxide recycle stream using ethylene glycol to produce a dry carbon dioxide recycle stream. The second piping is configured to receive the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream from the dehydrator. The natural gas liquids recovery column is configured to receive the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream from the second piping and configured to separate the dry carbon dioxide recycle stream into a carbon dioxide reinjection stream and a natural gas liquids stream.
HYDROCARBON GAS PROCESSING
A process is provided for treating a hydrocarbon gas stream by condensing a portion of the gas stream to produce a liquid stream, then through several steps subcooling a portion of the liquid stream to be introduced into a midpoint into a fractionation column. Unexpectedly, it has been found that the recompression and refrigeration power requirements are substantially reduced and the minimum approach to carbon dioxide freezing are increased when the liquid stream is introduced to a midpoint in the column when compared to introducing the liquid stream to a top position or a lower position in the fractionation column.
METHOD FOR PURIFYING BIOGAS THROUGH MEMBRANES AT NEGATIVE TEMPERATURES
The invention relates to a method for membrane permeation of a gas flow including methane and carbon dioxide, wherein said gas flow is cooled to a temperature of 0° C. to −60° C. before being fed into a membrane separation unit.
METHOD FOR INTEGRATING A CO2 CAPTURE UNIT WITH THE PRECOOLING SECTION OF A NATURAL GAS LIQUEFACTION PLANT
A method of simultaneously liquefying CO2 and cooling natural gas, including providing a compressed CO2 loop, comprising a pressurized cooling stream, wherein a first compressed cooling stream and a second compressed cooling stream are produced by a CO2 compressor. Providing at least a portion of the first compressed cooling stream to a CO2 liquefaction system, wherein the first compressed cooling stream provides at least a portion of the refrigeration required by the CO2 liquefaction system. Providing at least a portion of the second compressed cooling stream to the pre-cooling system of a natural gas liquefaction system, wherein the second compressed cooling stream provides at least a portion of the refrigeration required by the natural gas pre-cooling.
