System and Method for Separating Methane and Nitrogen with Reduced Horsepower Demands
A system and method for removing nitrogen from natural gas using two fractionating columns, that may be stacked, and a plurality of separators and heat exchangers, with horsepower requirements that are 50-80% of requirements for prior art systems. The fractionating columns operate at different pressures. A feed stream is separated with a vapor portion feeding the first column to produce a first column bottoms stream that is split into multiple portions at different pressures and first column overhead stream that is split or separated into two portions at least one of which is subcooled prior to feeding the top of the second column. Optional heat exchange between first column and second column streams provides first column reflux and reboil heat for a second column ascending vapor stream. Three sales gas streams are produced, each at a different pressure.

y=nd
and wherein the supply pipeline penetrates the gas pipe such that its end is in the portion of the pipe having the reduction in diameter and n is between 7 and 9.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING AIR PRODUCT BASED ON CRYOGENIC RECTIFICATION
A method and a device for producing an air product based on cryogenic rectification; after being cooled by a main heat exchanger, raw material air and nitrogen compressed by means of a compressor are sent to a rectification system for low temperature separation. In the rectification system, products such as oxygen and nitrogen are obtained by means of low temperature separation, and oxygen-enriched liquid air is obtained at or near the bottom of a rectification tower. The oxygen-enriched liquid air or liquid-state air in the rectification system is sent out after being raised to a target pressure by means of a low temperature liquid air pump; air products of various pressures can be produced by means of selecting low temperature liquid air pumps with different lifts or by connecting in series different amounts of low temperature liquid air pumps. The present method can avoid the need to arrange additional air compressors, entirely changing the method for producing medium and high pressure air products in a nitrogen circulation process, and importantly can reduce production costs significantly whilst having greater flexibility. In addition, the present method can increase the oxygen extraction rate of an apparatus, thereby improving the energy efficiency level.
System and Method for Small Scale LNG Production
A system and method for producing an LNG product stream to provide fuel to generators, as an alternative to diesel, to power drilling and other equipment. Using sales gas from a natural gas/NGL plant containing less than 95% methane as a feed stream, production of LNG having 95% or more methane in quantities of 100,000 GPD or more LNG product are achievable with the system and method. The system and method preferably combine use of strategic heat exchange between the feed and a nitrogen-methane flash vapor stream and other streams within the LNG processing system without requiring heat exchange with process streams in the natural gas/NGL plant and a rectifier column that uses an internal knockback condenser and does not require a reboiler to remove heavier components from the sales gas feed.
Facility and method for producing liquid helium
The invention relates to a facility for producing liquid helium from a source gas mixture substantially comprising nitrogen and helium. The facility includes a cryogenic purifier including a system for separating the nitrogen from the source gas mixture with a view to producing helium at a temperature lower than the temperature of the source gas. The facility also includes a helium liquefier that subjects the helium to a work cycle including, in series: compressing the helium, cooling and decompressing the compressed helium, and reheating the cooled, decompressed helium. The facility includes a helium transfer pipe connecting an outlet of the purifier to an inlet of the liquefier in order to transfer helium produced by the purifier into the work cycle of the liquefier. The facility is characterized in that the cryogenic purifier includes a decompression system that includes an inlet to be connected to a source of pressurized nitrogen gas. Said system for decompressing the nitrogen gas exchanges heat with the separation system in order to transfer cold from the decompressed nitrogen gas to said separation system.
CRYOGENIC PROCESS FOR RECOVERING VALUABLE COMPONENTS FROM A HYDROGEN-RICH FEED GAS
The invention relates to a cryogenic process for recovering valuable components, in particular hydrogen, from a hydrogen-rich feed gas, in particular a hydrogen-rich natural gas, comprising the following steps: in a first separation column (T1), hydrocarbons having two or more carbon atoms are separated off, in a second separation column (T2), methane is separated off, and in a third separation column (T3) nitrogen is separated off, the hydrogen-rich feed gas, after optional precleaning R, being fed to the separation columns T1 to T3 according to steps a) to c) and being separated in the separation columns into a liquid fraction, the bottom product, and a gas fraction, the overhead product. In the cryogenic process according to the invention, the cold supply preferably takes place at least partially through one or more refrigeration cycles.
