The present invention relates to a new device and a way to assemble such a device for both cooking and drying organic material in the process of making meal. The device of the present invention has a large area for heat exchange and scrapers which stir the material in the container rather than transferring it around in circles. The method of assembling the device allows an accurate and convenient assembly so that the scrapers thoroughly scrape all inner surfaces of the device.

A method of drying wet powder using a fluidized bed dryer includes (S1) dividing a lower gas chamber into two or more compartments in the fluidized bed dryer including a gas distribution plate having a plurality of holes and an upper drying chamber and the lower gas chamber divided by the gas distribution plate, (S2) raising an internal temperature of the upper drying chamber and then supplying wet powder through an inlet provided on one side of the upper drying chamber, and (S3) supplying a fluidizing gas at different flow velocities to the two or more compartments, respectively, of the lower gas chamber using an external blower and introducing the fluidizing gas at different flow velocities into a corresponding region of the upper drying chamber through the gas distribution plate to perform drying of the wet powder.

A flash dryer for drying a product may include a chamber formed of a chamber wall. A product inlet may be provided for providing the product into the chamber. A gas inlet may be arranged below the product inlet for providing drying gas into the chamber. An outlet may be arranged above the product inlet. A gas distribution element may be arranged above the gas inlet. An outer edge of the gas distribution element may be distanced from the chamber wall such that a passage is formed between the gas distribution element and the chamber wall. A lower side of the gas distribution element may include a gas deflecting surface inclined relative to a horizontal plane such that the drying gas from the gas inlet is deflected by the gas deflecting surface towards the passage.
