A system that facilitates the controlled drying of biomass is provided. The system and method provides automated control over the rate of drying and the moisture content of the resulting product. The system and method also includes auto-loading and unloading, thereby providing a fully automated process. The system and method can be adapted to match the scale of the production and therefore has applicability for large operations as well as micro operations. In addition, since the drying rate and moisture content of the material being dried is monitored and controlled, the system and method can be used to dry products for a wide range of different applications (e.g., drying hemp for medical use as well as for industrial use).

LOW PRESSURE LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE
20220106727 · 2022-04-07 ·

An apparatus and method for a low pressure laundry treating appliance having a cabinet defining an interior, and a drum provided within the interior, the drum including at least an inner wall and an outer wall. Pressure differentiations and flash evaporation can enable drying without excess use of conventional heating methods.

ELECTROSTATIC SPRAY DRYER APPARATUS AND METHOD
20220062841 · 2022-03-03 ·

An electrostatic spray drying system comprising an electrostatic spray nozzle for directing electrically charged liquid into a drying chamber, a drying gas inlet from which drying gas is simultaneously directed, and a conical powder direction plenum for receiving drying gas and entrained dried powder for direction to a filter containing powder separation plenum via a connecting conduit. The powder direction plenum and connecting conduit each have a surrounding water jacket heat exchanger through which cooling water is directed for cooling the drying gas and powder below damaging temperatures prior to entry into the powder separation plenum. The powder separation plenum has a return line for redirecting separated drying gas to the drying chamber through a condenser, blower, and heater for reuse in the system, with condensed water being selectively redirected to the inlet of the powder direction plenum heat exchanger and/or to the cooling water supply.

Mixed-flow grain dryer with cross-flow vacuum cool heat recovery system

An improved grain dryer is presented having a mixed-flow heating section having a plurality of inlet ducts connected to the plenum that facilitate air flow into the grain column from the heated and pressurized heat plenum, and a plurality of exhaust ducts connected to openings in the exterior wall that facilitate air flow out of the grain column. A tempering section is positioned below the heating section and includes solid walls that reduce air flow through the grain column. A cooling section is positioned below the tempering section and includes perforated walls that facilitate air flow through the grain column and into the plenum. In use, heated air is forced outward through the mixed-flow heating section heating and drying the grain and air is pulled through the cross-flow cooling section cooling the grain. Air pulled through the cross-flow cooling section is recycled into the mixed-flow heating section thereby recycling heat.
