Heated shelf apparatus and freeze dry cart using same
A freeze-drying system is disclosed which includes a vented cart configured for operation in a pressure-controlled chamber, and a plurality of heated shelves disposed in the vented cart. At least one heated shelf of the plurality of heated shelves is provided. The heated shelf includes a first planar sheet formed from a thermally conductive material having a top configured to conduct heat to a tray resting on the top, a second planar sheet disposed opposite the first planar sheet, and a heating element secured between the first and second planar sheets. The heating element has a surface disposed in thermally conductive contact with the first planar sheet.
Method and apparatus for preparing aerogel by drying under reduced pressure
A method and an apparatus for preparing aerogel by drying under reduced pressure. The gel to be dried is placed into a sealed drying apparatus which can be depressurized by air extraction or/and can be heated to raise the temperature. The methods of reducing pressure by air extraction or/and raising temperature are acted upon the water and solvents within the aerogel to be dried, and an outward force is thus generated for the water and solvents to be volatilized outwards. By controlling the rates of reducing pressure by air extraction or/and raising temperature, the outward force is allowed to be equal to or close to the inward capillary force, such that the pores of the gel may not be collapsed or cracked. At the same time, drying is carried out continuously, and finally the interior water and solvents are removed completely.
Lyophilization loading tray assembly and system
Provided is a loading tray assembly for housing a lyophilization container and a related system and method. The loading tray assembly includes a chassis including a contact void configured to facilitate direct contact between the attached lyophilization container and a lyophilizer shelf. The method includes securing a multi-part lyophilization container including a peelable seal on a lyophilization loading tray assembly, inputting a liquid into a non-breathable section of the lyophilization container, loading the tray assembly into a lyophilizer, freezing the liquid, applying heat energy and a vacuum, the vacuum causing an opening of the peelable seal and occluding the lyophilization container to isolate the frozen liquid.
Freeze-drying device and freeze-drying method
A freeze-drying device includes a controller configured to control depressurization of containers filled with a liquid including a raw material and a medium to freeze the liquid from a liquid surface. The freeze-drying device also includes a gas capture pump configured to exhaust a freeze-drying chamber accommodating the containers, and a positive-displacement pump configured to discharge gas from a space accommodating the gas capture pump. The controller executes an exhaust mitigation process that performs the depressurization at an exhaust capability that is less than a rated exhaust capability of the freeze-drying device. The controller uses a partial pressure value of the medium to determine when the exhaust mitigation process ends. The controller maintains an exhaust speed of the gas capture pump and decreases an exhaust speed of the positive-displacement pump in the exhaust mitigation process.
Freeze-drying device and freeze-drying method
A freeze-drying method includes depressurizing containers filled with a liquid including a raw material and a medium with a freeze-drying device to freeze the liquid from a liquid surface. The depressurizing includes executing an exhaust mitigation process that performs the depressurizing at an exhaust capability that is less than a rated exhaust capability of the freeze-drying device, and using a partial pressure value of the medium to determine when the exhaust mitigation process ends. The executing an exhaust mitigation process includes maintaining an exhaust speed of a gas capture pump configured to discharge gas from a freeze-drying chamber accommodating the containers, and decreasing an exhaust speed of a positive-displacement pump configured to discharge gas from a space accommodating the gas capture pump.
Multi-part lyophilization container and method of use
Provided is a multi-part lyophilization container for lyophilizing a fluid, storing the lyophilizate, reconstituting the lyophilizate, and infusing the reconstituted lyophilizate into a patient, including a method of using same. The container includes a front surface, a back surface, a non-breathable section including a port region, a breathable section including a breathable membrane, and a peelable region including a peelable seal encompassing a boundary between the non-breathable section and the breathable section. The method includes inputting a fluid into a non-breathable section of the container, freezing the fluid, applying, in a lyophilization chamber, vacuum pressure, opening the peelable seal using a pressure differential, applying heat energy, sublimating the fluid and creating a temporary occlusion in a peelable region of the container.
