Means and methods for selective shelf temperature control
A system including a fluid manifold and an article; the manifold having a length and a width and a plurality of inlet or outlet ports and the article comprising an element disposed within the manifold adapted for adjustable lengthwise movement within the manifold; and is suitably employed to adjust shelf temperature in for example a freeze-drying apparatus.
Vacuum extraction oven
A device for drying organic substances under vacuum and altered temperature conditions, e.g. to extract particulates from the substance without significant damage to the substance. The device can contain a hollow vacuum oven to dry the organic substance. The substance is placed on the shelves in the vacuum chamber and the heaters below the shelves maintain the temperature uniformity to evenly heat the substance on the shelf. A vacuum feedthrough is connected on one side of the shelf for desired flow of the substance and the shelves themselves can be tilted for even drying. The vacuum pump, which can be used in high vacuum mode or gas flow mode then removes the particulates that evaporated from the substance and the condenser collects and condenses the unwanted or wanted particulates.
VACUUM DRYING KILNS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS THEREFORE
A material drying system, method, and control system therefor that provides for consistent and efficient drying of various materials is disclosed. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln can use various temperature measurements to reduce the chance of overheating the materials. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln (or a control system therefore) can use sensed information, such as the temperature differential across a platen assembly or the duty cycle of a vacuum pump, to determine when a large group of material has reached a substantially uniform dryness level. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln as disclosed herein can reduce checking, splitting, over-drying, and under-drying of material without requiring parameters from a user.
TRANSPORT DEVICE AND FREEZE-DRYING SYSTEM
A transport device having a plate; a conveyor to transport articles; a pusher to push and move a row of articles on the conveyor onto the plate; and a stopper to prevent the articles from being moved by the conveyor and to define the start of a row of articles being moved onto the plate by the pusher. The conveyor causes the positions of rows of articles stopped by the stopper to move alternately so that the positions of rows of articles moved onto the plate are shifted alternately.
Multi-Part Lyophilization Container and Method of Use
Provided is a multi-part lyophilization container for lyophilizing a fluid, storing the lyophilizate, reconstituting the lyophilizate, and infusing the reconstituted lyophilizate into a patient, including a method of using same. The container includes a front surface, a back surface, a non-breathable section including a port region, a breathable section including a breathable membrane, and a peelable region including a peelable seal encompassing a boundary between the non-breathable section and the breathable section. The method includes inputting a fluid into a non-breathable section of the container, freezing the fluid, applying, in a lyophilization chamber, vacuum pressure, opening the peelable seal using a pressure differential, applying heat energy, sublimating the fluid and creating a temporary occlusion in a peelable region of the container.
Lyophilization Loading Tray Assembly and System
Provided is a loading tray assembly for housing a lyophilization container and a related system and method. The loading tray assembly includes a chassis including a contact void configured to facilitate direct contact between the attached lyophilization container and a lyophilizer shelf. The method includes securing a multi-part lyophilization container including a peelable seal on a lyophilization loading tray assembly, inputting a liquid into a non-breathable section of the lyophilization container, loading the tray assembly into a lyophilizer, freezing the liquid, applying heat energy and a vacuum, the vacuum causing an opening of the peelable seal and occluding the lyophilization container to isolate the frozen liquid.
Lyophilization Container Fill Fixture, System and Method of Use
Provided is a gas fill fixture for use in lyophilization, a related system and method. The gas fill fixture includes a chassis, fill indicator and a lid, such that the chassis and lid together form a cavity for receiving a flexible lyophilization container. The system includes a lyophilization container, a lyophilizer and a gas fill fixture incorporating a chassis, a fill indicator and a lid. The method includes process steps for using the system to lyophilize a fluid.
A FREEZE DRYER AND A METHOD FOR INDUCING NUCLEATION IN PRODUCTS
The invention relates to a freeze dryer and a method for inducing controlled nucleation in liquid products. The freeze dryer for inducing nucleation in water based products (44) to be freeze-dried comprises a product chamber (12) adapted for housing a vapor gas and the products (44), a condensation chamber (16) connected to the product chamber (12) over an isolation valve (36) in a gas conductive manner, said condensation chamber (16) being provided with a gas pump (18), a gas transfer line (20) connecting the product chamber (12) with at least one cooling device (22) being adapted to generate ice-crystals when said vapor gas is withdrawn from the product chamber through the cooling device (22) in a first gas flow direction (streaked arrow), the freeze dryer being adapted toafter the generation of the ice crystals in the cooling device (22)convey a flushing gas through the gas transfer line (20) in a second gas flow direction (white arrow) going reverse to said first gas flow direction in order to thereby entrain the ice-crystals from the cooling device (22) into the product chamber (12) to induce nucleation of the products (44) therein. The freeze dryer is particular in that the gas transfer line (20), which comprises the cooling device (22), is separated from the gas pump (18) at least by the condensation chamber (16), the condensation chamber (16) providing a gas passage for the withdrawn vapor gas during the withdrawal in the first gas flow direction, and a gas passage and/or gas storage for the flushing gas during the conveying in the second gas flow direction.
Conveyance system
