Serpentine microwave dryers for printing systems
10052887 · 2018-08-21 · ·

Serpentine microwave dryers and a method of fabricating same are disclosed. The serpentine microwave dryers utilize microwave waveguides that includes passages through a short axis of the microwave waveguides that are sized to pass a continuous-form print medium. A long axis of the microwave waveguides are positioned across a width of a media path of the continuous-from print medium. Electromagnetic energy transported along the microwave waveguides is used to dry wet colorants applied to the continuous-form print medium. At least one of the microwave waveguides has an offset from other microwave waveguides that is perpendicular to the media path of the continuous-form print medium. The offset reduces an attenuation of the electromagnetic energy in microwave waveguide(s) that are offset.

Feeding device of a belt drying installation and method for controlling a feeding device
10024598 · 2018-07-17 · ·

A feeding device is provided for a belt drying installation for dump or sewage sludge material dewatered down to a pasty consistency. In the conveying path of the sludge material, a first roller having transverse grooves that are set back relative to the outer diameter of the roller and a guide device are arranged relative to the outer diameter of the first roller such that when the roller is rotated the sludge material is drawn into the transverse grooves and is shaped to elongated extrudates. The first roller is associated with a comb which has teeth that rigidly engage the transverse grooves and which sweeps the extrudates from the transverse grooves, wherein the tips of the teeth which rigidly engage the transverse grooves define a line of engagement. The tooth tips which rigidly engage the transverse grooves are beveled towards the tooth neck.

Concentric duct system for a dryer for printing system

Systems and methods for concentric duct system for a dryer of a printing system. One embodiment includes a dryer of a printing system and a duct system. The dryer includes web conditioners sources to condition a web of print media, intake ports to supply air for the web conditioners, and outlet ports to remove air for the web conditioners. The duct system includes a supply hub and a return hub. The supply hub includes a tubular body with a lower portion and an upper portion, and supply nodes around the lower portion. The return hub includes a body around the upper portion of the supply hub, and return nodes around the body. The duct system further includes supply ducts to connect the supply nodes and the intake ports, and return ducts to connect the return nodes and the outlet ports.

A 3D printing consumables drying machine
20250035377 · 2025-01-30 ·

A 3D printing consumables drying machine is disclosed. The top of the base is provided with a accommodation cavity. The rolling mechanism, heating mechanism and drive mechanism are installed in the accommodating cavity. The rolling mechanism is used to carry the reel. The heating mechanism is installed in the accommodating cavity. The driving mechanism is installed in the accommodating cavity. The driving mechanism is used to drive the rolling mechanism to rotate and to drive the reel on the rolling mechanism to rotate. The problem with many 3D printing consumables dryers on the market is that the internal reel remains static during drying. This causes uneven heating of the consumables. Which resulting in inconsistent drying across the consumables. Moreover, the consumables close to the heating device are prone to deformation, melting, and other undesirable effects due to excessive heat.

ADJUSTABLE INTERLACING OF DRYING ROLLERS IN A PRINT SYSTEM
20170153059 · 2017-06-01 · ·

Systems and methods for adjustable interlacing of drying rollers in a print system. One system is an apparatus that includes first rollers that conduct heat from a heat source, and dry a web of print media as the web travels over a front side of the first rollers in a first direction. A last roller of the first rollers turns the web in a second direction. The apparatus also includes second rollers disposed a distance above the first rollers and that transport the web in the second direction. The apparatus further includes a movement mechanism that reduces the distance between the second rollers and the first rollers to cause the second rollers to occupy spaces between the first rollers so that the web traveling in the second direction contacts a back side of the first rollers to further dry the web.

Curl Resistant Web Handling System

A web handling system is disclosed. The web handling system includes first dancer rollers coupled to engage and move a web of a print medium in a forward and backward direction upon stopping a printing operation and allow forward motion during the printing operation.
