An apparatus for drying an electrode plate includes a drying furnace configure to dry an electrode plate having a slurry coated thereon, an over-heated steam supplier configured to supply the drying furnace with over-heated steam as a drying heat source, a circulation fan configured to inhale at least some of the over-heated steam discharged from the drying furnace and to introduce the inhaled over-heated steam back into the drying furnace, an exhaust fan configured to inhale at least some of the gas exhausted from the drying furnace, and a heat exchanger configured to exchange heat of the exhaust gas supplied from the exhaust fan.

Method of treating a material

A method of treating a material to recover an oil from the material comprises heating the material to evaporate the oil, removing gas phase fluids from the material, and separating the oil from the gas phase fluids removed from the material, wherein the method includes mixing hot vapor with the material. The material being treated in the chamber is heated by friction within the chamber generated by a rotating shaft and flail. Injection of hot vapor improves the efficiency of the process to separate oil and any other evaporable liquids at lower temperatures. The thermal energy generated within the chamber is not consumed in changing the phase of large quantities of liquids in the material, and more of the energy generated is available to heat up the material and evaporate the oil fractions from the solids.

ELECTRODE MANUFACTURING FACILITY AND ELECTRODE MANUFACTURING METHOD

An electrode manufacturing facility includes a dryer, a first pipe, a solvent collection device, an outside air inlet pipe, a heat exchanger, and a second pipe. The first pipe sends an exhaust gas expelled from the dryer to the solvent collection device. The solvent collection device causes an organic solvent contained in the exhaust gas expelled from the dryer to dissolve into water to collect the organic solvent. The heat exchanger exchanges heat between the exhaust gas expelled from the dryer and the outside air inlet pipe. The second pipe is connected to a pipe to which the exhaust gas after having passed through the solvent collection device is expelled and to a portion of the outside air inlet pipe located upstream of the heat exchanger, and sends at least a portion of the exhaust gas after having passed through the solvent collection device to the outside air inlet pipe.

A heat pump air handler dries and warms the air from the drying chamber exhaust, and returns it to the drying chamber, in a closed air loop. The heat pump air handler includes a dehumidifier means in the closed air loop flow path. The dehumidifier means removes entrained moisture from wet air exiting the drying chamber, reheats the air, and returns it to the drying chamber.

INERTED PLATE DRYER AND METHOD OF DRYING SOLVENT BASED COATING

An inerted plate dryer for drying solvent based coating is disclosed. The dryer uses two tiers of substantially parallel heating plates that are located not more than 10 cm apart. A moving web with solvent based coating is passed through the dryer, and runs closer to one of the heating plates. The method of using such inerted plate dryer is also disclosed.
