Structural parts kit for formation of architectural and structural didactic models

A kit of structural parts connected by magnets is provided for the assembly of various architectural and structural models that simulate the behavior of cable structures, to understand different structural concepts. The kit includes an instruction manual, plates and other structural parts that facilitate the learning of the concepts through tactile and visual methods. Experimenting with various models allows a user to learn about the behavior of the structures. The structural parts include i) metal cables formed by multiple spherical and hollow elements connected to each other by rods with limiters; ii) cable clip elements with upper openings to receive the spherical elements; (iii) cable connecting parts having two linearly movable parts that enable extension or retraction of the cable connecting parts; (iv) bar stiffeners for high deformation bars to form rigid elements; (v) a cable cutter; and (vi) multiple cable clip parts for receiving multiple cables.

The play construction set provides a means whereby children and youth may develop creativity and problem-solving skills in a recreational setting. The set is comprised of wooden strut pieces, wooden connector pieces, and a couple building tools, namely pliers and a mallet. The design of the pieces allows for many possible building configurations. The quality of the pieces gives the configurations the capacity to be used for a real purpose, i.e. the structural stability of the pieces would allow a good chair design to be sturdy enough to hold the weight of a human. For extra stability, glue can be applied to hold the connector and strut pieces in place. The strut pieces come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. Some such shapes are cylindrical, octagonal prisms, and triangular prisms.

The building toy set may include a plurality of elongate stick members, at least one of the plurality of elongate stick members having at least one rounded end; and a plurality of connector members, at least one of the plurality of connector members being in the form of a two-sided parallel connector having a body portion defining two slots, each of the two slots being disposed adjacent to, and extending parallel to one another. At least one of the plurality of connector members may include a body portion defining a bulb-shaped slot bounded by a straight wall portion and at least one curved wall portion, the at least one curved wall portion enabling one of the plurality of elongate stick members to be disposed at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the body portion of the connector member.

Provided is a toy, game, or puzzle building system. The building system may comprise variously shaped clips that are operatively attachable to cards, paper, or the like. The clips may have a receiving portion adapted to receive the edge of a card or another clip and may connect two, three, four, five, etc. cards or clips in various angles and orientations. For instance, two cards or clips may be connected in a straight line, at a right angle, at an obtuse angle, at an acute angle, etc. Multiple cards may be inserted into each receiving portion of the clips and the cards may be folded, cut, or otherwise manipulated to create a myriad of shapes. Cards may be provided as a part of the building system and may have various shapes, sizes, and images thereon that may be built into a particular item, vehicle, animal, person, building, scene, or landscape. The building system may also allow for freehand building and can incorporate any existing card or paper, such as playing cards, baseball cards, greeting cards, photographs, collector cards, notecards, etc. The various components and versatility between components allow for the creation of limitless configurations, shapes, and images.
