Hearth roll and manufacturing method therefor

A hearth roll includes a base roll, a thermally sprayed coating formed on the base roll, and a modified coating formed on the thermally sprayed coating. The modified coating is formed by modifying a part or the whole of a surface of the thermally sprayed coating by melting and solidification of the thermally sprayed coating, by irradiating a part or the whole of the surface of the thermally sprayed coating with an energy beam. The thickness of the modified coating is from 2 to 20 m, and the Vickers hardness HV of the modified coating is from 1.2 to 1.4 times larger than the Vickers hardness HV of the thermally sprayed coating.

Transport roller for heating furnaces

The transport roller disclosed herein includes: an outer tubular member which is tubular and is made of a metal material; an inner tubular member which is provided inside the outer tubular member, is tubular, and is made of a ceramic material; multiple ring-shaped projections which each have a ring shape along an outer peripheral surface of the outer tubular member, are made of a metal material, and are supporting the heating target; and protection members which are formed in respective portions of the ring-shaped projections in contact with the heating target, and each include a ceramic coating containing a ceramic component.

Sleeve for mounting a ceramic roller in a roller hearth furnace, the sleeve has a receptacle for one end of the ceramic roller, the receptacle being surrounded by a lateral wall. The lateral wall has, in the axial direction, a waist portion and a clamping portion, wherein a wall thickness (d) of the lateral wall in the waist portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the waist portion, and a cross-sectional area of the receptacle in the clamping portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the clamping portion. A ceramic roller can be mounted in a roller hearth furnace by the sleeve, even at high temperature. During production, the sleeve is provided with a reduced cross-sectional area in the clamping portion. When the sleeve is pressed axially onto the end of a ceramic roller, the reduced cross-sectional area produces an elastic force, with the sleeve being held on the ceramic roller.

Continuous heating furnace

A continuous heating furnace (200) includes a conveyance body (210) stretched in an endless shape and configured to convey a burning target, a furnace main body (212) partially or entirely surrounding the conveyance body to form a burning space, and a roller (214) configured to support a portion of the conveyance body in the furnace main body. The continuous heating furnace (200) further includes one or more closed gas heaters having an introduction hole configured to introduce a fuel gas into a heater main body, a combustion chamber in which the fuel gas is combusted, a discharge section to which an exhaust gas is guided, a radiation surface heated by the exhaust gas flowing through the discharge section or combustion in the combustion chamber and configured to transfer radiant heat to a burning target, and an exhaust hole configured to exhaust the exhaust gas that heats the radiation surface to the outside of the heater main body, and disposed in the furnace main body, and an exhaust pipe (216) in communication with the exhaust hole of the closed gas heater and through which the exhaust gas is guided. In addition, the exhaust pipe enables heat exchange between the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust pipe and the roller.

Method for heating a blank and heating system

A method for manufacturing a steel component from a blank is provided. Firstly, a blank is placed in a conveyor system. Then, at least a preselected zone of the blank is preheated while the blank is retained at a predetermined preheating location. Finally, the blank is conveyed through a furnace. A preheating system for heating blanks in a production line is also provided.

Roll for handling a load in a furnace usable in a continuous casting and rolling process for thin carbon steel slabs

The present invention relates to a water-cooled handling roll (100) for handling a load (50), in particular a thin slab, in a furnace for temperature heating, maintaining and for buffering, arranged between casting and roughing, in a continuous casting and rolling process for thin carbon steel slabs. The roll (100) comprises a first internally hollow shaft (110), which is coated by an insulating and/or refractory material and a plurality of wheels (25) connected in stably fixed manner to an outermost surface (111) of the first shaft (110) to handle and support the load (50). According to the invention, the roll (100) also comprises a second shaft (120) arranged within an inner cavity of the first shaft (110) in position coaxial to the first shaft (110) and so as to define a gap (30) between the first shaft (110) and said second shaft (120). The roll (100) further comprises cooling water circulation means housed at least in part within said second shaft (120).

ROLL COMPRISING AN ABRADABLE COATING

A protective and abradable coating composition is suitable for application on rolls and more particularly for application on conveyor rolls. The abradable coating is suitable for use in high temperature applications. Rolls incorporating the coating may be produced and used according to disclosed processes and procedures. Application of the composition to rolls reduces corrosion by aluminium melt, and enables the removal of built-up substances by friction. The life time of the roll is thereby increased.

MICROWAVE HEATING SYSTEM

A microwave heating system heats a hermetic container loaded with a heated object. The hermetic container is accommodated and given pressure by a microwave transparent and pressure resistant module, and is fixed onto a transporting device in a cyclic course. Microwave is generated by a microwave heating device to perform heating. The hermetic container is stirred while the transport device carries and moves the hermetic container. The temperature of the hermetic container or the heated object is measured by a temperature measuring module. The number of times to stir and repeatedly heat the heated object are appropriately determined in the design of the system. The output power and heating time of the microwave heating device and the transmission speed of the transporting device are adjustable during operations of the system, hence forming a closed-loop temperature control system.
