A multilayered material system includes at least one of a liner sheet and a cellular core, and a multilayered composite joined to the at least one of a liner sheet and a cellular core. The multilayered composite includes hollow microspheres dispersed within a metallic matrix material.
HEAT DISSIPATING DEVICE USING TURBULENT FLOW
Proposed is a heat dissipating device using turbulent flow. In the heat dissipating device, a plurality of block flow paths (12) are formed in parallel inside a block body (10), a first cap (16) and a second cap (28) are mounted on side surfaces (15) of the respective ends of the block body (10) so as to connect the block flow paths (12), a working fluid flows into the block flow paths (12), and the working fluid which has passed through the block flow paths (12) is transferred to the outside. Turbulence generators (38) are mounted inside the block flow paths (12), and finishing end portions (40) on the respective ends of the turbulence generators (38) are supported by the first cap (16) and the second cap (28) and are positioned inside the block flow paths (12).
VAPORIZOR
A vaporizer for vaporizing a liquefied gas includes a first heat exchanger block having first and second linear conduits extending therethrough, a second heat exchanger block having first and second linear conduits extending therethrough, one or more heaters located between the first and second heat exchanger blocks, and an inlet capacity control valve. The heat exchanger blocks may be fabricated by extruding aluminum. The heaters may be independently powered. At least a portion of the inlet capacity control valve may be located within one of the conduits.
Advanced cooling system using throttled internal cooling passage flow for a window assembly, and methods of fabrication and use thereof
A window assembly heat transfer system is disclosed in which a window member has a selected transparency to monitored or sensed electromagnetic wavelengths. One or more passages are provided in the window member for flowing a single-phase or two-phase heat transfer fluid. A mechanism allows either evaporation or condensation of the fluid and/or balancing of a flow of the fluid within the passages. In one embodiment, the window assembly can be made by producing passages in a top surface of a first single plate, optionally producing passages in a bottom surface of a second single plate and bonding the top surface of the first plate to a bottom surface of a second single plate to form the window member with the passage or passages. In another embodiment, the window assembly can be made by providing a core around which the window member material is grown and thereafter removing the core to produce the passage or passages.
TEXTILE WEAVE REDUNDANT LOOP COLD PLATE DESIGN
A cold plate apparatus is disclosed. A cold plate includes a first set of sinusoidal conduits and a second set of sinusoidal conduits formed therein. The first set of sinusoidal conduits is arranged in a first direction, and the second set of sinusoidal conduits is arranged in a second direction. Crests of the first set of sinusoidal conduits overlap troughs of the second set of sinusoidal conduits. Crests of the second set of sinusoidal conduits overlap troughs of the first set of sinusoidal conduits. A first set of header plates is fluidically coupled to the first set of sinusoidal conduits, and a second set of header plates is fluidically coupled to the second set of sinusoidal conduits.
TUNED MULTILAYERED MATERIAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING
A multilayered material system includes at least one of a liner sheet and a cellular core, and a multilayered composite joined to the at least one of a liner sheet and a cellular core. The multilayered composite includes hollow microspheres dispersed within a metallic matrix material.
THERMAL CONTROL APPARATUS FOR LASER SYSTEM
A thermal control apparatus including a body defining a centerline axis extended along a height and a circumferential direction extended relative to the centerline axis. The body forms a flow circuit therethrough, an inlet opening, and an outlet opening each in fluid communication with the flow circuit. The flow circuit is extended in parallel flow arrangement along the circumferential direction from the inlet opening to the outlet opening. A cavity is extended at least partially through the body along the centerline axis. A thermal control system includes the thermal control apparatus, a fluid flow device configured to provide a flow of heat transfer fluid to the apparatus through the inlet opening and to receive the flow of heat transfer fluid from the outlet opening of the apparatus, and a flow conduit providing fluid communication of the flow of heat transfer fluid between the fluid flow device and the apparatus.
HEAT EXCHANGER, HEAT EXCHANGE UNIT, REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGE MEMBER
In a heat exchanger, an insertion hole of a header and an end portion of a heat exchange member can be properly joined. In the heat exchanger, the heat exchange member includes at least one heat transfer tube extending in the first direction and a fin that is formed at part of an end edge of the heat transfer tube in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The fin is provided at part of a portion of the heat exchange member that is other than an end portion thereof in the first direction. Part of the heat transfer tube that is located at the end portion of the heat exchange member has a smaller width in the second direction than a width of part of the heat transfer tube in the second direction that is located at a fin setting portion.
Air-oil heat exchanger
A matrix for exchanging heat between a first fluid and a second fluid, in particular for an air-oil application in a turbine engine, includes an envelope defining a flow path of the first fluid and a network extending into the flow path and in which the second fluid flows. Along the axis defined by the curvature of the matrix, the dimensions of the envelope vary circumferentially (T(A)) and radially (R(A)). The matrix may be used with a heat exchanger.
