Provided is a heat exchanger to perform heat exchange with a predetermined apparatus, the heat exchanger including a heat exchange channel construction configured to form a heat exchange area for heat exchange with the apparatus and to perform heat exchange through a flow of a heat transfer medium. The heat exchange channel construction includes a plurality of heat exchange channels each in a spiral shape, and the heat exchange channel construction includes an independent channel heat exchange area in which one of a first heat exchange channel and a second heat exchange channel included in the plurality of heat exchange channels independently performs heat exchange in a structure that includes at least one of a single channel structure and a branch channel structure and an interlocked heat exchange area in which the first heat exchange channel and the second heat exchange channel perform heat exchange through interlocking.

A flexible manifold adapted for use on a plate-fin heat exchanger core, the flexible manifold including a plurality of individual layers configured to be metallurgically joined to respective ones of a plurality of layers of the plate-fin heat exchanger core, and further including a first end with at least one port adapted to receive or discharge a medium, a second end distal from the first end, adapted to transfer the medium to or from the plurality of individual layers, a plurality of horizontal guide vanes defining the plurality of individual layers, and a plurality vertical members positioned within each of the individual layers. The flexible manifold is configured to be mechanically and thermally compliant, and can be metallurgically joined to the heat exchanger core by brazing or welding.

Heat exchanger

A plate-type heat exchanger, in particular for motor vehicles, is described which includes plate pairs. In one example, a plate pair includes a first plate and a second plate that form a first flow path and a second flow path between the plates. In this configuration, the first and the second plate are associated with a first attachment plate and a second attachment plate, respectively. A third flow path is formed between the first plate and the second attachment plate and the first flow path is formed between the second plate and the first attachment plate. Alternatively, the third flow path is formed between the first plate and the first attachment plate and the first flow path is formed between the second plate and the second attachment plate. A spatial region for a fourth flow path may also be formed between adjacent plate pairs.

An apparatus for controlling water temperature includes a housing defining a composting chamber for receiving compost and a conduit disposed within the housing for providing flow of water. The conduit at least partially receives heat generated by the compost and may include a first subconduit extending substantially about an axis of the housing, a second subconduit extending substantially about the axis of the housing and being spaced apart from the first subconduit and a plurality of elongated subconduits extending between the first subconduit and the second subconduit and providing fluid communication therebetween. The housing may have at least one translucent portion for permitting flow of light waves therethrough. The apparatus may have a mechanism for mixing the compost.

REFRIGERANT HEAT EXCHANGER

A refrigerant heat exchanger has the passage defining member. The passage defining member is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. The passage defining member has a tube portion defining a refrigerant passage. The passage defining member has the plate portion which spreads from the tube portion. In the tube portion, carbon fibers are oriented to surround the tube portion. This orientation contributes to a pressure resisting performance in a radial direction of the tube portion. In the plate portion, the carbon fibers are oriented to protrude from the tube portion. This orientation contributes to improve mechanical strength in the plate portion. The carbon fibers are extended over both the tube portion and the plate portion. This orientation promotes thermal transfer over the tube portion and the plate portion.

A heat exchanger comprises a stack of sets of fins and tubes attached to or encompassed by embossed plates comprising a void. In some embodiments, the fins overlap the void having a peripheral margin of the fin attached to the peripheral margin around the void. In some embodiments, the fins comprise through fluid apertures allowing lateral fluid flow. In some embodiments, the plates comprise lateral peripheral protrusions enabling selective sealing of gaps between adjacent stacked plates by unselective application of heat or adhesive to a face of the heat exchanger. In some embodiments, the plates comprise uniformizing protrusions in a fluid inlet and/or outlet zone that reduce the amount of non-uniform fluid mass flow between different channel protrusions of heat exchanging zones of the set. Also disclosed are methods for assembly and selective sealing of the heat exchanger and an apparatus comprising the same.

HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchanger includes a plurality of principal heat exchange sections and auxiliary heat exchange sections. Each of the auxiliary heat exchange sections is in series connection to a corresponding one of the principal heat exchange sections. Of tube number ratios of the number of the flat tubes constituting each of the heat exchange sections to the number of the flat tubes constituting a corresponding one of the auxiliary heat exchange sections, the first principal heat exchange sections which is the lowermost one has the smallest tube number ratio. Consequently, discharge of liquid refrigerant from a lower portion of the first principal heat exchange section is accelerated during defrosting, thereby shortening the time required for defrosting.

Heat exchanger unit with removable cassettes for air conditioning in motor vehicles

A heat exchanger unit that enables a quick interchanging of function, form and size of the different heat exchanger modules. The interchanging may be possible in regard to the sequence of the individual heat exchanger modules. The heat exchanger unit in includes inserts configured such that appropriately configured cassettes can be inserted, and an inner shape of the cassettes is configured so that different heat exchanger modules can be accommodated therein. The cassettes are thus designed specific to the heat exchanger, while the outer shape of all cassettes conforms to the shape of the uniformly configured inserts.
