An example land cultivating system includes a mobile unit, a traveler arrangement operably coupled to the mobile unit to ride on the surface of stubble residues as the mobile unit moves across land to be cultivated, and a fluid jet cutting head supported by the traveler arrangement. The cutting head is configured to selectively discharge a high-pressure fluid jet to make a cut through the stubble residues and underlying soil as the mobile unit moves across the land. A soil opening device is provided to form a furrow in the ground in line with the cut made by the high-pressure fluid jet, and a liquid injector nozzle is provided to discharge fertilizer or other chemical(s) into the soil.

The film becomes distorted toward the side of the sealed space due to deformation caused in the film when the temperature of the film exceeds a preset value and when the pressure of irrigation liquid circulating within the flow channel exceeds a preset value, thereby creating a gap between the emitter body and the film, through which the first through-hole and the second through-hole are enabled to be connected.

A fertilizer knife for applying fertilizer to soil. The fertilizer knife includes a knife body having a primary chamber through a rearward end thereof. Fins diverge laterally outwardly from a tip at a lower forward end of the knife body and curve upwardly from the lower forward end, terminating above a discharge end of the primary chamber. Liquid from a liquid source is communicated to the primary chamber and is discharged from the discharge end into the furrow formed by the fertilizer knife. In another embodiment, a secondary passage through the knife body communicates gas from a gas supply into a gap surrounding a supply tube disposed within the primary chamber. In another embodiment flow controllers disposed on the knife regulate liquid into the primary chamber and gas into the secondary passage.

System and method for dispensing seeds and treatment

A system for dispensing seeds and a treatment. The system includes a first tube for dispensing the seeds via a first outlet, a second tube for dispensing the treatment via a second outlet, and a first valve at an upper portion and a second valve at a lower portion of the second tube. The second outlet is located between the discs of a furrow-opening wheel. The first valve is positioned outside of the furrow during operation and controls movement of the treatment from a container into the second tube. The second valve controls release of the treatment from the second outlet into the furrow. The second valve may open and close in response to pressure exerted by the treatment in the second tube. Depending on the treatment, the valves may release the treatment on, adjacent to, or both behind and in front of the dispensed seeds.
