THERMAL BATTERY WITH ENCAPSULATED PHASE-CHANGE MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a thermal battery (1) comprising an enclosure comprising a fluid inlet and outlet and comprising within it an encapsulated phase-change material in the form of at least one tube (3), at least one tube (3) being wound in a spiral within the enclosure.
Heat exchanger support
There is disclosed herein a heat exchanger and an associated method of manufacture. The heat exchanger comprises a flow conduit for accommodating flow of a heat transfer fluid. The conduit is wound around a central axis so as to form a plurality of turns, for example in a helical fashion. A support member for the conduit is formed of a sheet material shaped to extend in a circumferential direction about the central axis, wherein the support member is common to said plurality of turns. A plurality of fasteners are arranged to attach the conduit to the support member at spaced locations along its length.
Molten-salt-heated indirect screw-type thermal processor
A body of heat transfer fluid circulates in a first loop through an indirect screw-type thermal processor, a rundown tank, a pump, a heater and a fill tank, continuously heating the processor. With the pump operating, a first vertical distance between the fill tank bottom and the processor under the influence of gravity sets a minimum fluid pressure at the processor; a stem pipe opening in the fill tank at a second vertical distance above the processor sets a maximum pressure. With the pump inactive, the entire body of fluid passively drains to the rundown tank. Supplying the fluid may entail melting a salt, hydrating a salt, or both; such may be done in the rundown tank before circulation through the processor begins. A hydrated salt may be circulated, then heated and dehydrated, to gradually warm the processor. A dehydrated salt may be rehydrated and then stored; this may be done in the rundown tank after ceasing circulation through the processor. Also described: misting hydration and variable-speed-pump pressure regulation.
COLD-WATER GENERATING TANK, AND WATER COOLER EQUIPPPED WITH SAME
Disclosed are a cold-water generating tank for generating cold water by using the ice thermal storage method and a water cooler equipped with same. The disclosed cold-water generating tank may comprise: a tank body which houses, on the inside thereof, an ice storage liquid cooled by means of a cooling unit; a cooling tube provided on the inside of the tank body in order to cool the ice storage liquid housed inside the tank body; and a cold-water generating unit which has a heat exchange tube forming a flow pathway where inflowing water becomes cold water through heat exchange with the ice storage liquid, and has an extension member positioned on the outer circumferential surface of the heat exchange tube in order to widen the area of contact with the ice storage liquid.
HEAT EXCHANGER WITH TUBE BUNDLE COMPRISING AT LEAST TWO SECTIONS
A heat exchanger with a tube bundle wound in a helical manner about a longitudinal axis. The tube bundle includes at least two tube sections which are placed beside each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis. The tube sections each include a helically wound tube with has an internal cross-section which is constant over the helical winding thereof.
Heat exchanger and method for its manufacture
A heat exchanger for heating a liquid is provided, in particular, for high-pressure cleaners, including an inner and an outer heating coil which each have a plurality of turns, and including spacers which are arranged between the inner heating coil and the outer heating coil and are distributed over the circumference of the inner heating coil. To develop the heat exchanger in such a way that it can be manufactured more cost-effectively and is highly efficient, at least one turn of the outer heating coil includes between two spacers immediately adjacent to each other a first turn section in which the radial spacing from the inner heating coil is smaller or larger than in the region of the spacers. Two methods for manufacturing such a heat exchanger are also provided.
BARREL-SHAPED COMPONENT AS WELL AS VESSEL AND MOTOR HOUSING BASED ON IT
Disclosed is a barrel-shaped component and a container and an electric motor housing based thereon. The barrel-shaped component comprises a hollow metal pipe (11), wherein two ends of the hollow metal pipe (11) are respectively provided with an inlet (12) and an outlet (13). The hollow metal pipe (11) continuously spirals around an axis to form a plurality of annular components (14) arranged in parallel, wherein the annular components (14) are welded and fixed to each other. A component of any shape and size can be processed by using a simple elbow mould, thereby improving the cooling effect, lowering the processing cost and the material cost, and increasing the rigidity of the whole component where the barrel has the same wall thickness.
Stirling cycle machine
A rod seal assembly. The rod seal assembly includes a housing between two spaces configured to receive a reciprocating rod, the reciprocating rod disposed within a first space and a second space, a floating bushing configured to move axially and radially within the housing and disposed coaxially around the reciprocating rod, a rod seal configured to seal the outside diameter of the reciprocating rod relative to an inside surface of the floating bushing, and at least one stationary bushing fixed within the housing that may form a seal with the floating bushing to the axial flow of fluid in the presence of a pressure difference between the two spaces.
Autoclave system and method
An autoclave system comprises an autoclave vessel 210, for performing a leaching operation on sacrificial ceramic cores (not shown) and a storage vessel 220 for containing caustic leaching fluid 230. Interposed in a fluid flow path between the vessel 210 and the tank 220 is a heat exchange unit 240, comprising a body 250 containing a thermal exchange medium, in the form of water 260, and first and second thermal exchange conduits represented at 270 and 280. A thermal exchange medium inlet pipe 290a and a thermal exchange medium outlet pipe 290b are provided to the body so that the medium 260 can be replenished, preferably substantially continuously, to optimize thermal transfer efficiency.
Floating rod seal for a stirling cycle machine
