A process for the continuous production of thin-walled, radially closed hollow profiles which are composed of nonferrous metals and have a small cross section comprises supply of a flat strip of the nonferrous metal to a forming apparatus (212) at a first supply speed, where the thickness of the strip corresponds to the wall thickness of the hollow profile. The forming apparatus (212) is configured for continuous forming of the flat strip supplied into a shape corresponding to the hollow profile. After forming, two opposite edges of the flat strip rest flush against one another in a contact region. A welding apparatus (216) continuously welds the edges which rest flush against one another by means of a laser which emits light having a wavelength of less than 600 nm. The laser heats a point in a welding region which has a diameter which is less than 20% of the cross-sectional dimension of the hollow profile. The welded hollow profile is taken off from the welding region, provided in a corrugator (225) is with parallel or helical corrugation in sections and taken up in an uptake device (226).

Heat exchangers, heat exchanger systems, and hypersonic vehicles are provided. For example, a heat exchanger is provided that comprises a first chamber for receipt of a flow of cool fluid and a second chamber for receipt of a flow of hot fluid. The heat exchanger further comprises a buffer fluid flowpath for circulation of a buffer fluid therethrough. The buffer fluid circulates within the buffer fluid flowpath disposed between the first chamber and the second chamber to transfer heat from the hot fluid to the cool fluid. In certain embodiments, a hypersonic vehicle comprises such a heat exchanger, and the cool fluid is cryogenic or near-cryogenic fuel of the hypersonic vehicle and the hot fluid is engine bleed air from a hypersonic propulsion engine of the vehicle.

HIGH TEMPERATURE FLOW SPLITTING COMPONENT AND HEAT EXCHANGER AND REFORMING MEANS USING THE SAME

A high-temperature flow-splitting component, applicable to a temperature range from a first temperature to a second temperature, includes an entrance channel, at least one primary channel and at least one subordinate channel. The entrance channel is used for introducing a fluid at a total flow rate. The at least one primary channel for introducing the fluid from the entrance channel at a first flow rate is connected with the entrance channel by a first angle ranging from 90°˜270°. The at least one subordinate channel for introducing the fluid from the entrance channel at a second flow rate is connected with the at least one primary channel by a second angle ranging from 30°˜150°. A sum of the first flow rate and the second flow rate is equal to the total flow rate.

HEAT EXCHANGER WITH HEAT EXCHANGE TUBES MOVEABLE BETWEEN ALIGNED AND NON-ALIGNED POSITIONS

A heat exchanger includes a plurality of heat exchange tubes arranged into a first row of tubes and a second row of tubes. A fixed mount fixedly positions the first row of tubes, and a movable mount makes the second row of tubes movable between an aligned position in which tubes in the second row are aligned with tubes in the first row, creating a linear flow path for the fluid through the tubes, and a non-aligned position in which tubes in the second row are not aligned with tubes in the first row, creating a curvilinear flow path for the fluid through the plurality of tubes. Heat is exchanged between the first fluid and a second fluid passing through the plurality of heat exchange tubes. The heat exchanger may be employed as an HRSG in a combined cycle plant, among other applications.
