Enthalpy exchanger
A heat and humidity exchanger comprises panels made up of membrane sheets attached on either side of a separator. Channels extend across each panel between the separator and the membrane sheets. The panels are much stiffer than the membrane sheets. Panels are stacked in a spaced apart relationship to provide an ERV core. Spacing between adjacent panels may be smaller than a thickness of the panels.
OSCILLATING HEAT PIPE USING ULTRASONIC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
A manifold structure is formed using ultrasonic additive manufacturing and machining. The manifold structure includes a body having a base plate and a cover plate that define a flow passage therebetween, and a plurality of walls that segment the flow passage into a plurality of channels, wherein each of the walls has a height extending from the base plate to the cover plate and a non-linear length that is elongated relative to a width of the wall and extends in a direction normal to the height of the wall. The walls are wavy in shape to provide enhanced rigidity and stiffness during lamination over the channels.
HEAT TRANSMITTING DEVICE
A heat transmitting device is provided, including a main body and an integrating portion. The main body has at least one opening. The integrating portion is used to seal the opening, and has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. A first welding pattern is formed on the first surface, a second welding pattern is formed on the second surface, and the position of the first welding pattern corresponds to that of the second welding pattern. The type of the first welding pattern and the type of the second welding pattern are asymmetric.
POLYMER FILM HEAT EXCHANGER SEALING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of manufacturing a heat exchanger array that includes stacking a plurality of heat exchanger units in an aligned configuration with respective first ports of the plurality of heat exchanger units aligned. The method can further include generating heat in the first coupling elements at the same time and at a temperature sufficient to generate a first plurality of respective couplings between adjacent sheets of adjacent heat exchanger units about adjacent first ports and without a coupling being generated between the first and second sheets of a given heat exchanger unit.
FILM HEAT EXCHANGER COUPLING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of manufacturing a heat exchanger array that includes stacking a plurality of heat exchanger units in an aligned configuration with respective first ports of the heat exchanger units aligned. The heat exchanger units can include a first and second sheet coupled together to define an cavity between the first and second sheets; the first port at a first end of the heat exchanger unit defined by the first and second sheets; and a second port at a second end of the heat exchanger unit defined by the first and second sheets. The method further includes stacking the plurality of heat exchanger units in an aligned configuration with the first ports of the plurality of heat exchanger units aligned and generating a first plurality of respective couplings between adjacent sheets of adjacent heat exchanger units about adjacent first ports. The coupling can be generated by an adhesive.

The type of the first welding pattern and the type of the second welding pattern are asymmetric.
Heat pipe structure
A heat pipe structure includes a first plate, a second plate and a plurality of wick structures. The second plate is connected to the first plate to form a chamber. The wick structures are disposed in the chamber, and the distribution shape of the wick structures is approximately the same as the shape of a portion of the chamber. The chamber is formed by at least one coupling portion and three or more extending portions. The coupling portion communicates with the extending portions, and the contour of the connected first and second plates is different from that of the chamber.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER
Systems and methods for portable air conditioners are shown. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a description of a design is provided for a portable air conditioning unit that uses a standard 5-gallon bucket and 20 pounds of ice. In some embodiments, a 24 VDC lithium ion battery pack powers a backwards curved impeller, which draws air into an intake plenum and down through draft tubes, up thru an impeller, which slings the air radially thru exhaust duct(s) and out onto the user(s). A single push button may be utilized to turn the fan on and off and select a fan speed. In some embodiments, a neoprene insulating sleeve may be applied to the outside of the 5-gallon bucket or may line the inside of the bucket. In some embodiments, up to 7 vent wedges may be installed to duct the cool air in selectable directions. In some embodiments, the vent wedges may be removed allowing the top to seat down lower increasing the velocity of the cool air exiting radially.
