Disclosed is tagged ammunition, methods for making it, using it and detecting it to reduce gun violence. When implemented together with a smart phone coupled readers, standalone readers, or at a security center, software is included to allow integration of signals detected by multiple readers in the vicinity to map detectable ammunition detected by readers designed to detect tagged ammunition as a proxy for loaded firearms. This makes possible securing an area of interest, when combined with placing of at least one networkable reader in the vicinity of the area of interest; and connecting the one or more readers to a monitoring center. Such monitoring centers may be associated with schools, shopping malls, streets, public meetings, public events, housing complexes, an area being swept for loaded guns, an area being monitored for gang activity, or even a residence.

Training magazine

A training magazine has a body configured to be removably received in the magazine well, a motor connected to the body and operable to generate a motive force, an energy storage element operably connected to the motor and configured to store potential energy generated by the motive force, and an actuator operably engaged to the energy storage element and to the reciprocating action element, and operable to transmit the potential energy to reciprocate the action element. The reciprocating element may be a pistol slide. The energy storage element may be a spring. The spring may be a torsion coil spring having a cylindrical shape with opposed circular ends. There may be an input rotor operably connected to the motor and to a first end of the spring. There may be an output rotor connected to an output end of the spring and to the actuator.

A device includes a prime illuminator to throw light on an object. The prime illuminator defines a center of throw of the light, and luminescent dispersion from the light. The device is configured to be attached to a bottom of a magazine. The magazine with the device is configured to be inserted in a magazine insert of a firearm. The center throw of light from the prime illuminator is configured to be vertically lower from a bore axis that extends longitudinally through a geometric center of a muzzle of the firearm. Further, the luminescent dispersion from the prime illuminator is configured to be pointing towards the object, and the muzzle of the firearm is configured to be directed away from the object, when the firearm is configured to be raised in a high ready position or in a compressed high ready position.

A vehicle, in particular a tank, having a turret, on which a gun having a large-calibre gun barrel is secured, and comprising an auto-loader positioned behind the turret, via which auto-loader ammunition can be automatically supplied to the gun barrel. In order to achieve simplified automatic loading of the gun barrel with ammunition, the auto-loader is replaceably secured on the outside of the turret as a separate, modular unit. A magazine located in the auto-loader for receiving the ammunition can also be designed as an interchangeable magazine that can be replaced. An electronic system of the auto-loader is housed in the vehicle, specifically in the turret. The selection of ammunition in the auto-loader and the conveying out of the auto-loader are carried out via at least one mechanical interface, e.g. a power take-off, between the turret and the auto-loader.
